The Bakehouse

The Bakehouse is located in a very quiet country lane, and it provides access to a garden with a bench, a bistro table and chairs. The cottage is surrounded by a lot of interesting plants, and it looked beautiful in the midst of summer. It is a very comfortable cottage for 2 people. It is beautifully decorated in calm colours, and the furnishings are of very good quality. The bed was comfortable and nicely dressed. The host thought of many details and provides much more than the minimum required standard. We were left a fan in every room as we arrived in a heatwave. We really appreciated this. Having fresh milk, butter and bread ready for us on arrival was a lovely touch. Even coffee, tea, sugar, biscuits, jams, seasoning, and oil were provided. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and also basic baking. The bathroom was compact, but perfectly functional, clean, and the shower was powerful. All toiletries were provided, and the towels were nicely soft. Again, it was nicely decorated. Even though we did not meet the host in person, they were very polite, friendly, attentive and responsive to our queries via a text message. We will definitely come back.

We liked everything. There is nothing to criticise but it would be helpful to have the Bakehouse sign on the gate next to the Millpond cottage, as we were not sure we were at the right gate. But this is very minor and would not stop us from coming back.

Clean, well decorated property with all the facilities to enjoy a relaxing stay. Nice touch to leave homemade bread, butter, jam/marmalade ! Host very friendly and on hand should you need anything.
