The Aethernal Assisi Apartments

The first good surprise was the interaction with the owner even before we got to Assisi. We given good directions and a superb recommendation for free parking just two minutes away from the property. We literally left the car and walked for three minutes. Our host Massimo waited for us on the street and showed us the way and then the apartment. The apartment is superbly located in old Assisi and we did not go back to our car for the entire stay. We were given tips and a map with recommendations for our tour.

The Kitchen is small in size for cooking but then again the nearest (tiny) grocery store is a ten minute walk away. We had cold cuts and vegetable/fruit breakfasts in the apartment which were a lot of fun. We arrived in mid August during a heatwave. The main room has air conditioning and Massimo our host immediatly provided a large fan which resolved all heat related issues in the other area.

Lovely host who ensured we had everything we needed. Provided lots of information on the area and arrange taxi for us to the train station. Apartment is within walking distance of all main sights. Two storey apartment with plenty of room for all.

Access between floors is by a rather small and steep circular staircase. This was no issue for us but if you had young children or mobility issues this is probably not the right place for you.

The location is perfect.. You can park in the free lot next to Porto San Giacomo and walk right there. The Basilica is close by and there are many good restaurants and shops. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. The best part of our stay however was the family that operates the apartment. They have been in the hospitality business a long time and are very friendly and accommodating. They helped us out a great deal with parking and getting around the city. I was able to buy some high quality olive oil and other authentic hand made italian goods.
