Sujet Residence Da Nang by Haviland

I stayed here for 2x nights, from 12th to 14th August 2026. Location-wise it´s in the area of Da Nang located west of the Han river, very close to (for example) the Han covered market and the Pink Cathedral, but not close to the beaches, which are on the other (=east) side of the river and can be easily reached in a few minutes by Grab Car / Biker via the famous Dragon Bridge (Cau Rong) or the other bridge further up the river (Cau Song Han). I was in room 405 on the top floor. It was overall clean. It has no safety box. It has a fridge and TV with satellite (YouTube) and a local Vietnamese streaming service (TV 360) with subtitles in Vietnamese only; this is therefore completely useless to non-Vietnamese. Additionally, the volume, even at level 1, was bizarrely quite loud. There is a little “kitchen” on the side, with electric plate + some plates/bowls/cutlery, I wonder who uses all of these as eating out is so cheap!?? A kettle is provided, along with some coffee 3 in 1 and local tea sachets. The bed was very comfy. One of the two armchairs had a broken armrest; I reported this immediately to management. To reach this room you take the lift up to the 3rd floor + the stairs to reach the 4th floor. It was quite hot outside and the room wasn´t cooling down even with the air con switched on, the vent is on the wall next to the bed, it was cooling the bed area to a pleasant level, however everywhere else was warm. On the morning of check-out, a staff member gave the room a once over and he did confirm he was aware of the temperature issue, i.e. as the room is on the top floor it is generally hotter than the rooms on the lower floors, I hope this issue will be resolved. The room has a type of balcony I´ve never seen before, completely closed and surrounded by transparent panels, and guess what? It becomes super-hot when it´s hot outside, so it´s pointless to use it, it does provide natural light though, I’m not sure if the balconies of the other bedrooms are the same. Bathroom: good size, unfortunately windowless and with no extractor fan, either. The shower mat had a good smell, however the towels were not smelling great at all. The shower glass only covers half of the shower area, inevitably the bathroom floor gets wet, why doesn’t management install a full glass, like in many other hotels? Furthermore, the shower cold water was actually lukewarm, so if you want to have a fresh shower you can forget about it. The reception personnel were overall ok, their knowledge of English is quite basic, apart from 1 or 2 of them. The guy who came to check the room on my check-out day was in my opinion one of the best members of the team, he was quite professional and spoke much better English than the other staff members. The 24/7 V+minimart on the ground floor entrance is very handy, but it´s not air-conditioned. The back of the ground floor has a small “pool” which I´m not sure why it´s there. Pay attention that in Da Nang there´s more than one hotel with the name ´Sujet´, for this one if you search on Google Maps you need to type ´Sujet Residence Danang´ and on the actual map it shows as ´Sujet Residence Da Nang By Haviland´. Also, confusingly, the 1st line of the address on Google Maps says´186 Bach Dang´ but it´s incorrect, it´s actually located on one of the side streets called ´Tran Quoc Toan´. All in all a decent hotel, I would stay here again, but not in room 405.

So glad I give this place a chance, it was far exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the location is so conveniently located with so my eateries around. Secondly the staffs are so friendly and eager to help. Special thank to Manager Binh who is so nice and helpful. Thirdly, there is a convenient store right in front of the hotel. Highly recommended and definitely will stay again.

Booked this hotel/hostel for 1 night and extended another night. They were able to accommodate and find me a new room under short notice. The staff suggested lots of places to eat and things near by etc They also helped me look for laundry places that could accommodate my allergies and sensitive skin. (We weren’t able to find anything but they did try)

I’m a plus size and I can’t climb upper deck bed. But was given the upper deck. I asked for help/options from the manager. But was not helpful at all.
