Hotel La Citadelle

Great location. Friendly staff. Very clean and spacious room

The room was right next to the reception and breakfast area which unfortunately made it very noisy. The mattress, although comfortable, was very soft and left me with a sore back.

It’s proximity to the old town and transport. The hotel is clean and the staff were friendly Augusta spoke good English which helped us. The shower room was large and plenty of hot water.

The room was quite small and there wasn’t enough storage in the room.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The front desk was friendly and kind. The maids were amazing and very helpful with questions that we had about the hotel and the town. The location is perfect. We could walk to everything. The path to the sea was right next to the hotel.

The location wasn’t bad - quite close to everything but on a steep incline with a lot of steps . The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a daily cleaning service but they should leave at least 2 loo rolls in each room! The hotel is close to some shops and a brasseie if you don’t want a hike in the evening. There is a fridge , hairdryer and some toiletries . There is good WiFi.

The property has undergone some very cheap refurbishment. If they spent a bit more they could bring it up to a good 3 star. For e.g despite the shower room being new , the flush attachment was hanging off as were the new wardrobe doors . The bedroom floors could be replaced . Some of the furniture was in a state of disarray. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable . Overall , the bedrooms lack any character or finesse. I had a garden room - which in essence is a room enclosed within the parking area. It isn’t the hotel’s fault but some guests are really very inconsiderate at night with their cars , revving and make an unacceptable amount of noise . Perhaps the hotel could remind those using the carpark to be considerate of those of us who have rooms there .
