Fontana Penthouse is a beautiful apartment facing the lake, located in Varenna, in the picturesque village of Fiumelatte, on Lake Como.
The apartment is located in a residence with shared garden and is distributed on three levels. The entrance is on the fourth floor of the building and opens onto a bright and spacious living room with sofa and TV. Two French doors allow you to exit onto the large terrace overlooking the lake, equipped with table, chairs and deck chairs, ideal for relaxing in the sun or enjoying dinners and aperitifs while enjoying the sunset. Complete the floor a kitchenette with kitchen equipped with induction hob, oven, dishwasher and everything you need to prepare delicious dishes, and a bathroom, equipped with double shower head, sink, bidet and toilet.
A staircase leads to the loft, where there is a double bed, while another one leads to the third floor, where there is the second bedroom with a double bed and a second bathroom fully equipped.
Fontana Penthouse has a modern and elegant decor and is equipped with all the comforts such as Wifi, hairdryer, washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The house is 300 meters from the train station of Fiumelatte, with local trains to and from Varenna, 2km km from the historic center of Varenna, and 3 km from the ferry that connects Varenna to Bellagio, Cadenabbia, Menaggio, Tremezzo and all the lake center.

Loved it and can’t wait to return! The view is gorgeous—amazing sunsets and, in the morning, Varenna is lit up by the sun. The patio is also right next to an old waterfall/fountain ruin type of thing that is lit up at night and it’s stunning. The inside of the apartment is also fantastic and we loved the very large bathtub and the rain shower heads. A few things to know—it IS the penthouse so there are quite a bit of outside stairs to get to the apartment. It wasn’t really a problem for us but it might be tough for other guests. We had a car which was great as it allowed us to get groceries (there didn’t seem to be any nearby markets) and check out Bellano (which we loved) and the Castello Di Vezio (which was also great and our 6 year old particularly enjoyed) but the apartment is also close enough to Varenna that you can just walk into town (about a 20 minute hike either along the road which at points feels slightly treacherous or along the greenway which is a bit more up and down -and beautiful—but not near cars). When we were there it was in the upper 70s and low 80s and the apartment did get hot especially since it faces the sun for most of the day. The sleeping loft gets quite warm although there are two fans which helps and the downstairs bedroom does stay a bit cooler. But everywhere in town was hot—it’s just that time of year— and the ability to escape the crowds and everything else made this an absolutely amazing stay. The Varenna team was also really responsive!
