Cabana 213 on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk

the location was amazing literally on the beach, what we wanted. I loved the balcony, we did not have a view of the ocean but we loved just getting some fresh air in the place and people watching. the bathroom was really nice and so was the bed and pull out couch for the amount of people we had. The location was in walking distance to literally EVERYTHING, restaurants, the boardwalk, there was this cute little coffee place just down the street we frequented for our morning coffee fix called Crush and Grind.

We did not really like the parking situation, the place has indoor parking but it filled up pretty quickly as the the evening came, they have an extra lot across the street but people who were not staying at the cabana (which it is dedicated for) filled it up and would use it to go to the boardwalk in the evening. we could tell because almost everybody in the outdoor parking did not have a cabana parking pass. which made it difficult (not impossible) to get a parking spot after dinner. Some locals also knew the password to the gate to come through to use the beach entrance, we noticed while sitting on the balcony and watching them walk from far away and just go right in and use the beach entrance which was a little alarming but not nefarious.

We liked the location. It was close to the boardwalk, beach access, and restaurants. The unit was clean and well stocked with necessities like paper products, linens for kitchen and bath, cleaning/dishwashing products, and soap/hygiene products. The kitchen was functional although small. The refrigerator and icemaker worked well. We were thankful for the Keurig and the provided coffee pods! When I called the property management company, the people who answered were polite, respectful, and helpful.

The check-in was confusing. I wasn't aware that there would not be an actual human being on the property to check people in and answer questions. We had trouble figuring out how to lock the unit door--something with an explanation would have been helpful. We finally figured it out on Day 2. It also didn't help that the door frame on the inside of the unit door is coming apart. One electrical outlet in the bedroom was put in crooked and looked like it was hanging onto the wall by hope and a prayer. The shower lever/handle literally comes off. The pool had a closed sign posted the entire stay. I didn't ask why but for the money we paid, we were disappointed that it wasn't open. The "pullout sofa" was a small, uncomfortable futon. We didn't even watch TV in that area because it wasn't comfortable. The dining room table was very wobbly and we didn't feel comfortable moving it so we didn't. The bed was relatively comfortable but the bedsheets did not fit the bed well, and they kept coming off of the bed's corners. That was super annoying! It seemed like the whole unit was renovated quickly and cheaply. It was not worth what we paid.
