Budget-friendly accommodation in one of Cinque Terre’s most beautiful villages

I really liked the self‑check‑in process — it was easy to find the keys in the box. The apartment is located on a beautiful, quiet street in Riomaggiore, yet it’s still very central and just a short walk from the train station and the marina. The space is quite dark due to the shutters, but this kept it nice and cool, and we slept really well every night (even with temperatures over 30 °C outside and no need for AC). The washing machine in the apartment was also a big plus and came in very handy. There is enough storage in the apartment too.

A few things could be improved. The dishes in the apartment were plastic, which felt a bit out of place, and there was only one fork available — although plenty of knives and spoons. There were no instructions about how to dispose of the garbage, yet I received a message warning about possible fines. After checking out, I didn’t get any confirmation or feedback about this. The online check‑in process was also more involved than expected, requiring selfies and personal details for both myself and my son — I’ve never been asked for this before. It’s worth noting that the apartment is located up a very steep set of stairs, which is common in Cinque Terre. We packed light, so it was manageable, but this could be challenging if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage.
