Nothing, but we were lazy and caught Grab taxi’s day 2 as too hot to even walk the short distances to attractions !!

Great location near to all attractions. They are in walking distance but we use grab as we have children. There was lots of space and the beds were comfortable.

Brilliant location for walking to the Sun bear sanctuary, orang-utan sanctuary and Rainforest Discovery Centre. Roughly 25 min drive from central Sandakan too, which is accessible by affordable taxis. Was stocked with cheap snacks that could be purchased, such as pot noodles and cold drinks. Excellent air con! However, the only cooking area is outside in the heat. The area came with a kettle, toaster, hob, cooking utensils and plates and cutlery etc. There’s plenty of washing lines to hang drying clothes on the balcony and a washing machine in the bathroom, although it is very dated! Property was clean and host was friendly and welcoming. Great views of birdlife from the shared balcony area. We saw several kingfishers and hornbills.

This isn’t a luxury stay, but this is reflected in the excellent price. The furniture is a little dated, but honestly this didn’t matter to us.

The owner was lovely, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The location was great for the orangutan reserve and sun bear sanctuary. You could walk to these in 10 minutes. There is a fridge with drinks etc and kettle to use. There were 2 restaurants within walking distance, though the road is very dark. You need a torch. We ate at Mango twice and it was decent food with lovely staff. The property is surrounded by jungle, lovely views.

Our room had a strange layout. We opened the front door straight into the bathroom! Then walked into the bedroom. The room was just clean enough. Just needs updating and a thorough clean.
