Dive into the refreshing pool or find your zen with yoga in a picturesque setting. Make your escape to paradise and create unforgettable memories in the heart of Poipu Beach, Hawaii. Each unit has a mini split AC unit and 3 ceiling fans. Air Conditioning- Hawaii is known for its trade winds. Many homes on Kauai have been designed for "open airflow" using screened windows and screened sliding doors, and DO NOT have air conditioning. Please be sure and confirm when making your reservation whether the home you have chosen does or does NOT have air conditioning. Depending on the season, or even the day, temperatures typically range between 74 to 84 for the highs, and 60 to 74 for the lows, year-round. Refunds or discounts ARE NOT given for lack of Air Conditioning in a property.**Please note: Any bookings longer than 7 days will be charged a $200 mid- cleaning fee. Our staff will come and do a "refresh" during your stay. **Pool is NOT heated. Children must be supervised at all times.

Enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, yet quiet location. Easy to travel back with family, including a 4 and 5 year old. Appreciated coolers, boogie board, beach towels, futons, soaps, etc available for our use. House is rustic and could use a thorough dusting and inside paint job but met our needs. Washer and dryer was much appreciated but the dishwasher (in the second unit from the road) ...not so much. Pool was too cold for the kids and lawn too buggy but outdoor shower was handy. All in all, worked out well for us. Thank you for hosting our annual family vacation!

We were a family of 5 adults and 2 children and the layout was excellent with kids/family on one side, and 2 couples on the other. Easy access between. Pool was lovely, and we used especially on the stormy days. Location was so perfect for a short walk to several beaches. The kitchen was superbly equipped and lacked for nothing. Highly recommend.

Overall, our stay at the Plantation Cottages was pleasant. The good: - Convenient location near Poipu, restaurants, and beaches. - Spacious w/ beautiful yard space. - Safe and quiet street (except for roosters). - Great sunset views during fall and winter. The not-so-good: - Some items needed TLC, not really evident in the listing photos. - Old, cracked soap dispensers, crooked toilet paper holders, and water-damaged bathroom shelving, loud bathroom fan. - Mismatched lightbulbs, rusty grill internals, and rotten deck areas with poor repairs. - Lack of driveway lighting and motion floodlights. - Dusty surfaces and neglected plants. - Inadequate beach equipment: 3/4 umbrellas were unusable, usable one barely worked. - host promised to replace umbrella, but didn’t happen during our stay. Upon arrival, place appeared unclean. High-touch surfaces were covered in fingerprints, and the floors had red dirt. I noticed this when I dripped carbonated water on the floor and saw a red rag after wiping it up with a paper towel and the floor looked clean. Dried drip marks were also visible elsewhere all over the kitchen floor. Lacked a full outside shower. There was a non-enclosed shower, two foot washes, and a clogged wash basin. In cottage 2, smoke detector was missing from wall outside bedrooms. Was found on shelf in laundry area. Looking back, there were several unexpected issues for the price. While these didn’t bother our experience, they could be improved with little effort

We absolutely loved our stay at these sweet cottages! Our family group of ten enjoyed the pool, short walk to the best beach, and being able to walk to the cafe and markets. We all grilled Hawaiian fish together, and designate cottage one for quiet preschooler naps and early bedtimes, and cottage two for noisy evening games and sleeping late. Watching the turtles at sunset is magical! The kitchens are well equipped and had everything we needed. Tip - bring coffee or pick some up at Safeway on the way!

The cottages were absolutely fantastic and Lance was a wonderful host - he was very responsive and helpful from the moment we booked until we left. The fact that these are two units directly next to each other was amazing for our families (joint family trip with both sets of grandparents and our kiddo) AND it was incredibly nice that the walk to Poipu beach was about 5 minutes. There were also plenty of beach towels, 3 new beach chairs (I think about 7 chairs overall), 2 functional umbrellas (the two Tommy Bahamas umbrellas in the red/blue/orange striped bags were broken upon arrival), plenty of regular towels, plates, bowls, cutlery, a blender and plastic reusable cups. Another bonus is there were two travel cribs but the mattress for the Cosco one was very thin and didn’t cover the mechanism in the base of the travel crib, the Pack and Play worked well though! One word of advice, don’t be like us and don’t arrive right before anyone in your group might need to go to sleep. The units will be fully closed with no AC on so it will be about 90 deg F in there when you get there so I’d recommended getting there at check in time, turn the fans and AC on and then go do something while the units cool. There are also only 2 stand up fans and the front bedroom in the second cottage stays about 87 deg F even with 2 fans and the ceiling fan going and the AC on (so again, don’t be like us and sleep with your baby in that room, the back room in the second unit is much cooler).

The location was excellent! Only one block to the beach. The 2 cottages were perfect for 2 families staying next door to one another, well supplied with beach towels, beach chairs umbrellas, cooler and the pool was great. The yard and the deck furniture could use some cleaning and updating. Cushions ripped, table missing a large tile. Not quite like the photos but otherwise all was good.

The cottages had it all! Amazing location, everything you need to spend the day at the beach, or just lounge around at the house. Two families totaling 9 people, ages 13-57. The cottages were big enough for all of us. The kids spent lots of time enjoying the pool in the evenings. Did I mention the location? Within walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Communication with Lance was easy, and a BIG shoutout to Dorthy! She responded promptly with any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again, and recommend to family and friends. If you’re thinking about it, just do it! You will love it as well.

We enjoyed our 9 days in Poipu. The home is 1 block from the beach, and we could walk everywhere. Home had a pool which we enjoyed, but the various beach we could walk to made this very worthwhile.

We had a wonderful family experience at this location! They supply everything you need to enjoy your day on the beach, and the location of the property is perfect! Close enough to get what you need, yet tucked away on a quiet little street. There were 8 of us ranging in age from 5 to 84 and we all loved our stay! We hope to be able to enjoy this lovely property again in the future!

This was our first visit to Kauai to celebrate a milestone birthday. This property is in a wonderful location, walking to the beach was very quick. The property is gorgeous, beautiful trees and flowers, and the pool was terrific. The house is well appointed with just about everything you could want in the kitchen, lots of towels, beach chairs, and mats. Lots of restaurants within easy driving distance and location on the island is central for exploring other beaches and island treasures such as the Waimea Canyon and hiking trails. I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time in Poipu! So close to the beaches! The house was comfortable and well equipped for days at the beach. Plenty of towels, beach chairs, beach toys, umbrellas. Also everything for the little ones, high chair, pack n play, strollers. The kitchens also had everything we needed to cook at home. The yard was spacious and offered plenty exploration opportunities for kids, lizards, geckos, chickens! Thanks Lance for the chance to stay at such a great place!

This was definitely home away from home. You cannot beat the location. We did not want to leave. The house had everything you needed and was so comfortable and clean. We toured the entire island and all were in agreement that we could not have found a better location. The beaches were breathtaking. One evening we got to see 100 sea turtles. We have traveled around the world and this was the place that we said we have to return to. If you can rent this piece of paradise for your family you will absolutely not regret it. We will be back!

We had a pre-wedding get together at the property. There is plenty of beautiful outdoor space making it a very nice and relaxing event. The property is very nice, clean and a great location to the beach and getting to see the turtles was a huge plus. Thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful place.

The location was amazing. We were only a few houses from the beach and I walked every morning on a near by path watching the turtles and some dolphin sightings. My parents came with me and the setup of the home was perfect for that. I stayed on one side with my husband and kids and my parents stayed on the other side. It allowed time for us all to get a break and have some quiet time away from everyone. The house had all the essentials including snorkel and beach equipment. We thought we’d use the pool more, but we didn’t because the kids loved the ocean. The pool was clean and really nice though. If we needed anything we got a response quickly. We look forward to coming back again and really built some great memories. I’d highly recommend the home and location.

We had a great time staying in the cottages. The beach was just a short walk and the family enjoyed ending each day with a walk down to see the turtles. Having the semi-private pool for the kids when they were not feeling up to a crowded beach was a life saver too. The place is well-stocked for a family and we had a blast.

This property is the best place we have stayed, ever. This is the 2nd time we stayed here. Walking distance (down the cul de sac) to the park and beach. Boogie board to the left with waves, baby beach in the center (protected, shallow, no waves), snorkel area to the right with fish and turtles swimming, and surfing waves to the right further. The pool is perfect, cannot even see it from the small road in front. Heaven on earth, for a large group (10-15), like ours.

I have a major issue with this property and the owner! On our second day at the property my young children were leaning on the deck railing looking at a gecko. The railing collapsed and they fell to the ground with the railing. It was a 4ft. drop. Both posts were rotted out! It was extremely dangerous. The owner did send his handyman to fix the railing over the next couple of days. Besides my children falling off his deck, which he offered no compensation for our very expensive stay, he made a property damage claim to ensure he would not have to pay for the deck repair on the insurance that we purchased to protect our trip! Pretty shady if you ask me. He has not reached out to rectify this so I have made a claim to VRBO and will be following up in hopes of some compensation. The deck NEEDS to be replaced! There were also several board that were up with nails sticking out and other rotting rails. Beware of your safety if you rent here.
