The view from the property is okay, but definitely not instagramable. While the hotel has potential, several issues made our stay uncomfortable. Here is what you need to know before booking: The Insects and Wildlife: There are a lot of flies everywhere. They do bite, though to be fair, that seems common for the whole area and not just this specific property. A bigger issue is that there is not enough staff guarding the buffet, so you have to fight off flies and local cats. It is best to eat breakfast the exact minute they start serving it. The Room: The plumbing is incredibly frustrating. You practically need a PhD just to figure out how to control the shower water temperature. Also, the cleanliness is highly questionable. I am quite sure they do not wash the pillows at all. The Pool: There is no staff watching the pool area, and it was pretty dirty. The water looked oily and was full of floating insects and waste. We only dipped in once and immediately got out. Service: The staff experience was mixed. Some were helpful, while others gave completely conflicting answers. This might just be due to a language barrier, though. Location and Food: The surrounding area is totally dead, so you are dependent on hotel food. They will tell you they only serve Moroccan food, but if you insist, they can actually make other dishes. After eating tagine for three straight days, we managed to get a steak on our last night by being persistent.
