The apartment is right above the main shopping walking zone to the lake and only a couple of minutes to walk to the cathedral as well as to the ticket office for all ferries of Lake Come, so expect a bit of noise when the windows in the kitchen/living room area are open, however if you sleep in the bed room that is pointing towards the other side, it is very quiet. We enjoyed the tasteful interior, the kitchen is well equipped with a freezer, fridge, washer and dishwasher. The apartment is definitely very new, it is on the third floor and there is an elevator available Now, IF you are traveling as a wheelchair user, be aware that only a manual chair will fit into the elevator, up to 26 inches max! There is also one stair into the entry door to jump and to the apartment, 4-5 inches high. My partner could jump it with backing up his chair. And pushing himself up. The bathroom/shower is beautiful for a normal bodied person, for a wheelchair user the entrance into the shower is a bit narrow. We brought our own shower chair, so that was helpful. The transfer from a chair to the shower area is for someone who knows how to transfer.on his own, you will need help if you aren’t completely sure how to manage. A power chair may would not be able to enter this apartment. The communication with Emanuela was great, she gave me a tour of Como on the map, she provided and explained everything in the apartment when we checked in. She also gave me a great overview on restaurants, points of interest and explained the ferry schedule well. A nice welcome cake sat on the kitchen table and it was very tasty. If you want to be in the middle of things, right by nice restaurants and good shopping then this is a great place to stay, a great Carrefour grocery store was only a few blocks away as well as a DM market and several gelaterias. We thought that it was absolutely fair regarding pricing for the week and also have been offered house keeping, if needed.

The parking is a bit challenging as the Appartement is in a ZTL zone. We found parking within a radius of 5 minutes, we brought the Handicap plaque from the US and also talked to the parking police several times so times to make sure we legally parked and we didn’t have an issue as there are several handicap parking spots available. There is public parking, most spots you will have to pay. The parking situation obviously isn’t the fault of the apartment owners and you will find a way to navigate if you travel by car.
