Overall the property was to our liking and fit for purpose.

Bedrooms require bedside cabinets at each side of the bed so as to have somewhere to place watch, phone, jewellery, car keys etc, rather than having to put them on the floor. Exterior spiral staircase should be shielded from persons approaching the front access door. There is a high risk of person or persons injuring themselves approaching the door from the car parking area.

This lodge was great for a weekend getaway. We booked this to celebrate my parents' 30th wedding anniversary. The kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and living space were all lovely. This place really has the potential to be brilliant. However, some things let it down, making it more average compared to other places we have stayed in the past. The lodge is set up well and has some good facilities. However, basics were absent.

We booked and paid for 6 people, yet the lodge was not set up to receive 6 people. There were only 4 towels when the description stated there would be 1 each for guests we paid for. The pull out bed in the living room had no bedding, there was a duvet and pillows, but no sheets were available, which was an inconvenience and made 2 of the guests staying on this bed feel uncomfortable. There were also a few other problems we noticed, which I have stated below: - The towel holder in the bedroom ensuite was coming off wall when we arrived. - There was no bulb one of bedroom lamps - The main bathroom lock did not work - There was no soap in the soap dispensers - There was no latch on one of the bedroom doors, therefore, it doesn't shut properly and the other bedroom door does not fit the frame. - General glassware not suitable for 6 people - The biggest issue we found was of the 4 thermostats in the lodge, none of them worked and did not even appear to be connected to any sort of AC in the property. It may sound petty, but it did affect our stay. These are things that should be addressed as it would definitely affect our decision to rebook again in the future. These lodges are great and have a lot of potential. It's just a shame a few things let it down. It is a beautiful lodge, but it seems that it has been rushed to be finished, and it really shows. I tried contacting the owners to ask for bedding and extra towels, but the number provided stated it would be a 24 hour reply. Therefore, I did not bother, as we needed it that night. I also tried to raise my concerns via the email provided, but both emails that I bounced and could not be sent to the address? Very strange.
