Everything!!! We fell in love with the place as soon as we stepped in the door! We were there for skiing and it was a highlight of our 3 week holiday in Japan. We wished we had stayed here longer than 3 days. The host was lovely, warm, welcoming and very helpful. We liked that it was just out of the main thoroughfare. We managed to get Ubers if we wanted to eat in town, or visit an Onsen (which we highly recommend). The walk from town was 15 mins and all downhill (so easy), but be aware that walking in to town is all uphill. It is a short walk to catch the shuttle to the snowfield and we were able to leave our ski’s and snowboards at the rental place every night, which was great. This accommodating also has a drying area for your snow gear to dry overnight!
Something very minor, but a comfortable couch/sofa to relax on at the end of the day would be our only suggestion. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

For a big group this is perfect, the only thing I would share with others considering staying here is that it is outside of the “downtown” of Nozawa onsen, so there is a good amount of walking. It’s a beautiful walk though!
Everything was great! The distance into town was the only slight inconvenience but the beauty and graciousness of the host and her house made it beyond worth it.

This was hands down the best hospitality I’ve ever received at a lodging facility. Arina is the nicest and most warmly accommodating host I’ve experienced in any location in any country. She helped is in countless ways, anticipating our every need, gracious beyond every expectation. Our party of 8 was absolutely blown away by her and her father, who did some of the shuttling to and from the ski resort.
The distance from the hill could be a concern for some, but be sure to ask Arina and she will make any concerns disappear.

A lot of space for the group we had and a great kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and mud room area for ski gear. The free parking spot in the local parking garage was a huge perk!!
Everything was perfect for us.
