Mill Cottage with Spa Pool & Sauna

The cottage is so homey and comfortable and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Graeme and Maree were wonderful hosts.

It was pure delight to spend time at Mill Cottage. We loved the Spa pool and the kitchen is very well equipped. Our hosts even provided breakfast for the first nights as our flight was late. The garden is lovely and the ducklings were fun to watch. The cottage is close to the pretty village Akaroa and several hiking tours. One of our best stays ever.

Mill Cottage was absolutely gorgeous in every way. Maree and Graeme communicated with us efficiently in the lead up to ensure that everything was good to go upon arrival. Maree was there to meet and greet us, even offering to pick us up if we wished to dine in town(but not drive) as it was NY's Eve. The kitchen was generously and thoughtfully stocked with the loveliest of goodies (totally unexpected.) Maree spent a lot of time in showing us around the cottage and extensive grounds so that we were familiar with using the spa and sauna. The rooms were so cosy, comfortable and impeccably clean. Amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body cream, sunscreen etc were all available. The nature surrounding the cottage offered new surprises every day. Rare birds, furry critters and a duck with 10 ducklings....Easy quick drive to town and restaurants, but also a pleasant walk for those wanting to walk off the calories! The cottage has historical information about the original Mill and Maree and Graeme can fill visitors in on any other local info or info relating to the local flora and fauna. If you are looking for a totally relaxing experience with more than one dimension, Mill Cottage is the hidden gem of Akaroa.

Loved every aspect of our stay!

The stunning location surrounded with native bush meant a restful stay was readily delivered. The immaculately clean historic cottage was a delight, with its quirky layout and acute attention to detail: fresh flowers in vases, beautifully ironed linen, ingredients for a full cooked breakfast, homemade jam all made loving our stay something remarkable. Both hosts were very personable and truly cared for their guests.
