Fantastic stay in a well equipped and comfy dome would go back in a heartbeat

Absolutely loved the done experience so different to other accommodations! So well equipped and beautifully comfy with everything you could need. Breakfast was fabulous (some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had!! And the staff were just wonderful. The pool is also lovely for an early evening swim and it’s a very short walk to the beach and surrounding restaurants

A later shuttle (after 12pm) would be a great added service but otherwise I loved everything!

A Luxury Escape

The staff were absolutely amazing: kind, friendly, and genuinely lovely. The atmosphere is incredible and magical, both inside the rooms (all bubble-shaped, spotless, with the most comfortable and huge bed I’ve ever slept in) and in the outdoor areas. Truly enchanting! The pool is beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. Breakfast by the pool was perfect, with a wide variety of delicious sweet and savory dishes. The property provides a free shuttle to and from the pier, which is very convenient. They also allowed us to store our luggage at reception before our evening departure and stay at the pool even though check-out was late in the morning. The price is obviously much higher than the Thai average and Koh Tao in general, but it’s worth every penny. If you want to indulge yourself, this is the place to stay!

Not very close to the pier and the beaches, so it might feel a bit out of the way for some (personally, I really appreciated the quiet and peaceful area). A great relaxing week at the Sunny Side Resort

We loved everything about the resort. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The resort was kept to a high standard. The domes were spacious and comfortable with everything we needed for a week’s stay. We particularly enjoyed opening the curtain and watching the sunset before going out to dinner. We didn’t hire mopeds because everything we wanted was in walking distance. There’s an amazing beach about 10 minutes away, and fantastic restaurants as well. We booked it as a novelty having never stayed in an accommodation like it before, and was so impressed we’d recommend it to everyone.

Awesome hidden gem

Free breakfast, free pickup and very cozy spot. I’d recommend renting a moped but otherwise it’s perfect. The breakfast options where also very nice and the pool was very clean.

Great stay, perfect location with excellent staff!

Everything was nice. The pods were cool to stay in, clean and huge inside. Aircon worked really well and bathroom was great. Shower pressure was brilliant. Pool was lovely, I was the only person using it the day or two I was there. As most said, breakfast was basic but nice. Was good enough for the couple days we were there. Staff are super friendly and attentive. And location was good, far enough away you don’t hear any of the parties but close enough to walk to everything. 20 mins you’re in the centre of the everything.

Nothing really, anything negative would be tiny details so won’t list.

Great place to stay on Koh Tao

Great location. Just a short walk to the center, but enough distance to be quiet. Comfortable bed. Good A/C. Good water pressure in the shower. Nice swimming pool. Good value for money. Even more friendly people than elsewhere in Thailand.

As mentioned by many reviewers, the fixed position of the showerhead is silly. But the water pressure is good so we could take a shower anyway. The walking paths look nice but are less practical. This is not a problem, as the staff carry your bags for you. Choice for breakfast is limited and is made to order, which is quite slow. The lighting in the room is a bit limited. You have either a yellowy light above the bed or a very bright light on the ceiling.

Amazing stay

This is such a great experience. The domes were much bigger than I thought. They were very clean and were cleaned everyday which was amazing! The pool is lovely and it’s a short walk to the main area with shops, restaurants and the beach. The staff were so kind and helpful.

Pretty cool experience!

The bed was extremely comfortable, the pool was perfect for a late afternoon swim. A/C works well. It’s close enough to the parties to walk… and far enough not to be annoyed by the music and 20y.o partying all night long. The staff is great. Breakfast is fine if you don’t expect a feast. They have tubas and masks for snorkeling that you can borrow for free (no fins, but you don’t really need them anyways). You can rent a scooter at the hotel and it’s a bit cheaper than if you rent it elsewhere. I’d go back without hesitation.

Great stay! Unique and special place!

I loved the setup. Each dome was distanced away from one another. The a/c in the dome was excellent. The bed and linens are very nice. The pool was beautiful and was never crowded, a welcome relief from the heat after walking around all day. We didn't rent a scooter but chose to walk everywhere. We are both early 50s and in good health. The walk to the end Sariee village took us about 10 minutes in flip flops and carrying a backpack of dive gear. The dome had several takeout menus, and those came in handy. We did order in a few times because we were jet lagged. There is a grocery store for snacks about a 5 minute walk from the resort. The resort picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry terminal and was super easy. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again. It was close enough to walk the beach, shops and restaurants but far enough away it was quiet and relaxing. We missed the free breakfast most mornings because we were scuba diving, but the one time we did eat there, it was very good. Highly recommend this unique resort!!

The smell of burning plastic and garbage that filled the air twice while we were there. It's nothing the resort could do about it, and that smell was randomly in different areas of town as well.

Unique concept and very comfortable, clean and spacious

The bubbles were nice and comfortable, very clean and spacious. Good powerful shower and strong airconditioning. The airconditioning leaked but they fixed it quickly. It was good value for money. We enjoyed the pool. It was close to town but quiet so we slept well and used scooters to go to town. Staying in the bubble was quite unique. We were there in July and it was warm.

Breakfast was okay but it would have been nice to have a bit more variety and it was a little slow so definitely plan ahead (ie if you go to a diving appointment) There wasn’t much shade at breakfast or on the porch of the pods.

Amazing getaway!

Amazing landscape, clean and perfect service!! It transports you to another place. The thoughtful staff would prepare breakfast for you if you’re going to be off early for diving. They also gave me a nice birthday surprise!

Amazing experience!

The pods were an amazing experience. Everything felt brand new, clean and the bed was the most comfortable we have had in Thailand! Breakfast was included which had a few options to choose from. Location is close to the main area in Sairee beach, yet still far enough to not hear too much noise. We hope to return in the future!

The only negative parts were being charged 600 baht for a 10min shared taxi journey organised by the hotel - which we were later quoted 200 baht to get to the same area by a different taxi. We were also made to wait over an hour at the pier by the hotel transfer to wait for other guests to arrive by boat. This meant we were late to check-in and lost out on time in the pods!

The best!

Such a nice place to stay! The location is great - close enough to comfortably walk to the beach and and all the restaurants but still far enough from the bars and clubs for it to be quiet at night. The staff was so lovely and made us feel at home. The cleanliness was superb and the room was one of the best we’ve stayed in during our travels in Thailand.

Amazing!

We had a wonderful stay at Sunny Side in Koh Tao! The staff were absolutely amazing – so kind, friendly, and always willing to help with anything we needed. The rooms were so clean, probably the cleanest we’ve seen during our travels. Everything felt new and fresh, and it was simply a pleasure to come back to the room each day. The pool was fun and relaxing, and the breakfast was delicious. Housekeeping was done daily, including fresh towels and complimentary bottled water. The location is great, just a short walk from the center of Sairee Beach, starting from the 7-Eleven. There’s also an excellent restaurant nearby called Kanya Kitchen and a large supermarket close by. No doubt we would stay here again – we truly enjoyed every moment of our time at Sunny Side!

Property is very well maintained, clean and comfortable rooms with a small kitchenette area (fridge and microwave with plates and cutlery provided). and the greenery is lovely. It is a close walk to Sairee beach but in a quiet area that feels very peaceful. Nice pool as well. We extended our visit because we liked it so much!

An Oasis

What a great find. A very new resort and brilliantly set up. The staff were absolutely great, so friendly and very helpful. It is a short walk from the beach, but very close to bars and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this resort and would come again.

We will stay here when we return to Koh Tao!

This property was great, we really enjoyed our stay here! The staff are very helpful in arranging pick up from the pier, we arrived much earlier than stated check in time and they checked us into our room right away! The room is a great size and it was very clean! The bed is huge and incredibly comfortable, we slept amazing! The bathroom is really big too! There is a small safe, hangers, hairdryer, kitchenette and shampoo/shower gel The pool is lovely, very clean and strong comfortable sunbeds. Breakfast was fresh and quick! The wifi was also good! It is in a great locations, far enough away from the busy night life of Sairee beach but close enough to walk to the area! You need a bike any way to explore the island and it was great to be no more than 20 mins away from most attractions!

The staff were very helpful however, we weren’t told hold to lock the door of the dome, may have been us being silly but we had to go and ask. The breakfast was good however there is not much choice, there is a set menu that you can choose from. For people with a big appetite it isn’t enough! There was only a choice of Hot tea and coffee, orange juice and milk for breakfast. It would be good to have an iced option and water as an option too. We had the dome looking over the pool and could hear the staff chatting quite loudly in the morning, this didn’t bother us however could be an issue to others. The latest drop off time to the pier is 12:00, our ferry was at 15:30 otherwise you had to pay additional fees so we walked. We only had a small backpack so this was fine approx 30 min walk but if you had bigger bags it would be an issue We also were given 2 small bottles of water per day, we asked for some extra however staff said they would be replenished by house keeping. We wanted them before we left for our day out but couldn’t which was frustrating. 2 bottles also is not enough.

The place is really cool, no doubt about it! You can tell it's new and hasn’t hosted too many tourists yet, which makes it feel nice and fresh. The rooms are pleasant, and the place itself is beautiful and inviting. We got a transportation from and to the ferry for no extra fees, just update the hotel at list a day before. The team was very very nice!

The location is a 15-minute walk away, which is dark and unpleasant at night (not to say dangerous, as motorcycles and cars pass through, there’s no street lighting, and of course, no sidewalks). I believe that as the area develops, this will improve as well, but until then, one needs to walk at night with a flashlight to avoid getting run over. In the rooms, I missed having chairs to sit outside. We took the nice couches from the room outside, but then it started raining, so we quickly brought them back in to prevent them from getting wet and damaged. There are no shaded areas near the rooms or around the pool, so if you want to sit and enjoy the place when the sun is strong, it’s a bit less comfortable. It’s not a critical issue, but I’m mentioning it so the place can address it. Breakfasts are very modest—the meal is prepared on-site and served to the table. There are no cheeses or vegetables, which might be lacking for someone used to a richer breakfast. I’m sure this will also improve.

La gentillesse du personnel, le confort du matelas et la propreté de la piscine. Tout est très très bien entretenu.

Le petit déjeuner n’est pas vraiment top et lorsque vous désirez passer un moment à la piscine (qui est superbe), il n’y a aucun moyen de boire ou de picorer quoique ce soit. Il faut se faire livrer … un peu dommage!
