About this apartment rental
1 block to the U St Metro (10 minute ride to the National Mall/Smithsonians),
The space:
The condo is a lower unit in a newly renovated and gorgeous 1895 classic DC rowhouse with the perfect location. Eleanor Roosevelt herself had tea at the house when it was owned by her friend and fellow educational reformer Valerie E. Chase.
The location cannot be beat (walk score of 98):
- Steps to the U St metro (green/yellow line)
- 5 min walk to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods
- YMCA, &pizza, restaurants, bars, shops, CVS, Yes! Organic, Sweetgreen, and dry cleaners on the same block
- Weekly farmers market
- Amazing restaurants within minutes (Busboys and Poets, The Fainting Goat, Michelin-starred BRESCA, Compass Rose, the historic Ben's Chili Bowl, Jimmy Johns)
U Street is the most vibrant neighborhood in the city, with countless bars, restaurants, boutiques, and historic landmarks. The condo is located a block from the action while still being on an entirely residential, quiet street.
Soak in the sun as you sip your morning espresso from the Adirondacks out front, cozy up in the living room to watch a movie on the 55" TV, or make a feast in the well-stocked and newly renovated kitchen.
The house has one bedroom with a queen bed as well as a comfortable queen-sized pullout in the living room. Take your pick from three different types of pillows: soft, firm, and in-between.
The house is dog-friendly! Just let us know what type and size of dog when booking (max 1 dog).
Please note:
1) Accessing the unit requires descending a few somewhat steep steps
2) The front yard space may be shared with other visitors or dogs
3) We have a strict policy of no smoking and no marijuana (either inside or outside the house). This is important for health reasons for other folks that live on the property.
Guest access
The condo is a 3 minute walk from the U St/Cardozo green line metro stop.
Parking: There is street parking available, and we have a printed pass in the apartment so you can park in resident spaces in the area. Please note that this is a busy commercial area so it may be difficult to find parking on Friday and Saturday evenings in particular (it's always possible, just sometimes takes a few minutes of circling!). There are also multiple paid garages within a few blocks.
