Cosy Off Grid Shepherds Hut with Wood Fired Hot Tub

The hot tub was a bit of a mission to get hot and then the water was a bit murky and full of spiders 😬

We booked this place mainly because it advertised a BBQ and a wood-fired hot tub, which were the main reasons we chose it for our trip. The hut itself is off-grid and powered by solar, which we understood and had no issue with. However, the hot tub was very disappointing. We carefully followed the instructions and spent around 10 hours in total over two days heating it, but the water only reached about 33°C. With the outside temperature around 10°C, it felt lukewarm and wasn’t comfortable to use as a hot tub. Plus it lacks a jet water feature. Since the hot tub was one of the main reasons we booked this accommodation, this significantly affected our experience and we ended up leaving one night earlier than planned. The hut itself is cosy and the setting is peaceful, but if you are booking mainly for the hot tub experience, it may not meet your expectations.
