Good quality and freshly cooked food. Very helpful staff. Great location. Quirky and quaint with a lot of history.
Access to accommodation is via steep stairs. This could be made clearer at booking as it may not be suitable for anyone with physical disabilities.

It’s in the most perfect area, beautiful surroundings and only 10 mins from the station. Really friendly welcome on arrival by Andrew and so nice to talk to George over a wonderful breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay.

A comfortable & accommodating stay in beautiful surroundings. A warm welcome on arrival with advice/guidance offered re: the local area. Tea and cake on offer upon checking in (I rather recommend their chocolate scones). Lovely and interesting decor, found myself just happily looking at all the small details. Plenty of reading material in the room! A comfortable night’s sleep and the perfect location - within easy walking distance of the train station. I will be recommending to family & friends!
The only recommendations I have are minor points: it would have been nice for some bath salts to be provided (seeing as it’s such a lovely bath) plus the radio ran out of battery well into my evening (I did not want to disturb the hosts over something so minor, but it would have been nice for some spares to be stored in the room).

The property itself was intriguing with many period features with nice touches, but a lack of service marred the experience which is a shame.
A female member of staff was indifferent with little reason to return., for example little to no conversion or even an an acknowledgment of our presence which made us feel unwelcome, it would of been nice to be asked good morning, how did you find your room etc, nothing.
During breakfast she constantly rearranged items causing unnecessary noise to the point of distraction and annoyance.
That can’t be said of her husband who was a decent host as were his staff however due to her we would not return.
