the location was good as I was singing in the cathedral and the accommodation was very close.
There was a short delay when I arrived as I had to ring the owner to arrange for him to come and arrange for me to have entry. However I accept that was partly a lack of communication on my part as to what time I was arriving

The view wasn’t the best but it didn’t bother me as we were only there 1 night

The guest house is a quirky old building with an interesting structure, only 2 minutes walk from the Cathedral, which was a very positive aspect. The room was of reasonable size, and the bed was comfortable.
Payment was only in cash on arrival, and the host was not accessible after checkin. WiFi cost extra. A bedside lamp didn't work, and tea/coffee materials were minimal. The advertised garden was a mess. No info was available about the old house and its history, nor about Ely. These issues were minor, but they reduced the pleasure of the stay, and the cost was overpriced.
