Sana's homestay haputhale

Nous avons passé trois jours en famille chez Sana et sa maman! Nous avons adoré leur acceuil et leur gentillesse. Les petits plats de mama sont délicieux et faits avec amour ! Merci à elle pour son joli sourire et son cours de cuisine des bons plats Sri Lankais ❤️ La maison est a 2km du centre d'Haputale, dans un joli environnement calme !

We had a wonderful day and evening here. From the moment you arrive, you are treated as family. Sana’s Mum cooked us a delicious meal. And the view from the home is exceptional.

Sanas homestay is de beste plek waar we hebben verbleven in Sri Lanka. Ama is de liefste mama op heel de wereld. We hadden wondes van te surfen en een oorontsteking en ze heeft ons zo goed verzorgd. We voelden ons thuis. Dit was zo een mooie ervaring dat we speciaal voor Ama en Sana terug zouden komen naar Sri Lanka. Ama kookt het lekkerste eten in de hele wereld en ze leerde ons hoe we dit lekkere eten thuis konden maken in België. Ze voelde als onze mama hier in Sri Lanka en Sana voelde als ons broer. Sana is ook een geweldige man die er alles aan doet om ons de beste tijd te geven hier. Het huis is op een prachtige plek gelegen in de bergen van Haputhale. Het is er super rustig en stil. De kamer was super proper en verzorgd. De matras was heerlijk. De beste die we hier al gehad hebben in Sri Lanka. We hebben zooo enorm hard genoten van onze tijd hier in Sanas Homestay. We voelden ons thuis. Puur genieten. Het was niet ons plan, maar we komen binnen enkele weken terug omdat we Ama en Sana niet kunnen missen. Ze zijn onze familie. We zien jullie graag ❤️

The view is nice, and the location quiet.

No internet. Hot water in the shower is not really hot. You can hear everything in the house. Sana is here to entertain the guests, but the place is actually run by his brother / cousin and his mom. There are gaps in the door and windows, so the room is very cold and humid. Sana's mom is very friendly and does the cooking - the food is ok but the curries were often cold. I wanted to leave earlier because it had been raining for 2 days non stop - I offered to pay the booking.com commission but I still ended up paying 50% of the price for the last night, which felt a bit of a scam since Sana kept saying "this is your house my brother". Not recommended, unless you want to feel the south coast vibes on Haputale... I didn't want to leave a review but I got several WhatsApp messages asking me to leave one, so here you go.
