Serendipity with a view

Location is great. The view is spectacular. Sue is a very accommodating host who came and introduced herself upon arrival and answered our questions promptly and meaningfully during our stay. The accommodation is clean and very comfortable. Could not have asked for more!

A minor gripe but if you have children or a second couple staying then they have to go through the main bedroom to use the bathroom but this is outlined in the description so we didn't mind (just had our son sleeping in the lounge area).

The view was fantastic. Spacious rooms. Nicely appointed bathroom.

Footsteps moving around upstairs. To be expected when accomodation is part of a house.

It was clean. Pretty bed linen. Nice bathroom facilities. Some cute touches in the decor.

This property was listed as a 2 bedroom house and implied you have the whole place to yourself. There are not 2 bedrooms. To access the bathroom, the person sleeping in the Murphy bed in the kitchen/dining area needs to walk through the bedroom. This was not articulated in the listing. Despite communicating twice with the owner prior to arrival that we wanted both beds made up, we arrived and only one bed was made. The phone number given for any problems was the owners phone and she was overseas. The advertised “2 bedroom house” was in fact underneath the main house and subject to foot traffic, music and voices from upstairs. The house sitters also left a light on somewhere all night which shone through an internal window illuminating the bedroom. The kitchen facilities were very small and not what would be expected of a 2 bedroomed house. The small garden area was very tired and in need of TLC with a growing Lemonwood disrupting the view that was emphasised as a draw card in the listing. Access when leaving was partially blocked by a car. The only possibility for us to get to our car was to walk around the back end of the obstructing car, over a steep part of the driveway with bags, in the rain. I did not appreciate the pressure to leave a perfect review in the information book, or the cleaning and rubbish removal expectations that were not outlined up front.

Love the personal touch on how Sue hosts their guests. From the homebaked cookies, to making sure the heat is running when we arrive late at night, to a doggy box for our furry baby. Couldn’t fault our stay.
