Stunning views of Lake Taupo

Strange layout, 3 separate bedrooms but you had to walk through the others to get to them. The whole property was tired and dated and the roof creaked a lot at night, so we had to sleep with earplugs.

The location of the key box was difficult to access - climbing down/ squatting on a wet day

Power points in the bedroom. We had the choice of one (eg bedside light, electric blanket) although the room was equipped for two of each.

Great views, facilities & location to town was great too. Excellent spot for get together with friends or family.

One of the electrical wall heaters was cracked and needed attention, plus a couple of wall plugs. Could be a little dangerous. Otherwise perfect!

I like that the view was the exact same from the pictures. The house was large and exactly what we needed. While the weather wasn't good, there was space for us to all be in the same room inside the lounge. House was nice and warm too.

The oven was filthy and smoked out the house when we tried to use it. There were no smoke alarms either. The kitchen brush was filthy and there were no dish clothes to use to wipe down the bench. There were old beaverage bottles under the couch that we cleaned up and put into the recycling. We asked for 7 beds and there were only 6 made up and we couldn't find any sheets for the 7th bed so two people ended up sharing. There was a bit of bad weather during our stay and water seeped in from under an outside door in the downstairs area. The stairs were also a little bit of a surprise, very narrow. We had a small incident with some nail polish on the carpet and we let the host know but they took 2 weeks to even acknowledge the message from us. They never acknowledged any of the issues we raised.
