Cathedral View Apartments

Great location.

A bit convoluted to gain access, but all good after that.

We loved the location to the city centre, easily accessible. The view from the apartment was fabulous. Lots of nice restaurants to choose from in the square below. A real bonus having secure parking. The apartment was home from home, everything we needed was provided An en-suite shower and another bathroom. The accommodation was clean, modern and spacious. Clean and fresh, non smoking which is always a bonus. The host was fabulous sending us accurate directions with videos to make it very easy for us to find. Very prompt in replying when we needed to contact him. A fabulous apartment in a great location.

We loved everything and would definitely choose again.

Fabulous location. Walkable distance to everywhere we wanted to go. And great communication with the host. We where able check in/out earlier and later then stated. Would definitely book again.

Only thing I would say is to watch the water pressure when using the sink. Also that the hot water when on is extremely hot so just be careful with that.

The apartment has a great location. There is a lovely view of the Cathedral from the balcony. It's really easy to walk to the city centre and main sites in Belfast. The apartment is ideally suited for art lovers. Lots of mostly outside murals are very close by. The apartment is located in the same square that houses the Metropolitan Arts Centre, a cultural hub with art galleries and theatres. There are a number of restaurants in the square and nearby.

There were a number of issues that made for an uncomfortable stay: The plumbing was positively dangerous in terms of scalding hot water coming out of both the cold and hot water taps. Some of the tap knobs came away in one's hand when one tried to turn them. The temperature of the hot water is set too high. In the en suite bathroom the shower seals were dirty and coming off. The sink ran cold water only and the shower control was coming off. Insects in the second bathroom! The host came to the apartment in our absence and tried to address the plumbing issues but unfortunately didn't manage to resolve them. The bed linens are worn out and need to be replaced. The bed throws had stains on them, some quite large in size. A request to the host for a simple flat sheet was turned down on the basis that he didn't have any. Superficially the apartment was clean but the kitchen had a filthy and greasy oven tray. The freezer was unusable due to thick layers of ice. It had not been defrosted in a long while.
