Hotel Koch

Very friendly staff, great owners. Location is in a quiet place a short walk from the main village of Obertauern. The dinner meals were very good and the service great.

Super Service

- The food was excellent; specifically the main courses for dinner were superb, and also the Kaiserschmarrn for lunch. - The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to some of the main lifts in Obertauern. When coming down, you can even ski directly to the hotel. - The ski basement where you put your ski boots is easily accessible, and you can get from your room to the slopes in pretty much under 10 minutes if you want to. - The atmosphere in the hotel is very cozy, and overall maintains a strong family-owned vibe. Many people there seem to be recurring guests.

- The waiting staff appeared to have limited working proficiency in German, which occasionally led to miscommunication and a few incorrect food or drink orders. Overall, the service felt somewhat inexperienced and inconsistent. For example, tables were sometimes cleared too early, orders took longer than expected to be taken, and there were a few other minor service lapses. - The room was advertised as having a double bed, but in practice it consisted of two single beds pushed together. Even after requesting it, the hotel was unable to provide a single shared duvet, and only two separate single blankets were available. - The bathroom is divided into two separate rooms, one with the sink and shower and the other with the toilet. The toilet room had a persistent unpleasant odor, likely originating from the shared ventilation system with the kitchen.
