Podi Hoona Yala Safari Camp

This little camp hidden within the jungle was delightful. The staff were very helpful and even showed us an Indian pitta around the camp in the morning. The food was delicious. Our family of five were the only people staying at the camp which made it very special.

It was a bit of a way from the Yala park entrance, maybe 20 minutes, but the journey by jeep was quite exciting!

The stay was perfect and made exceptional by the staff who were truly trying to help and show us the wild life and give us the best stay. We were given a guided walk to see the birds at dusk, and when one our party mentioned he would like to see snakes Bandu, who studied wild life management in the UK came to us during supper and showed us two he had found. He then took us on a night drive to see Night Jars, and also managed to see a snake from the truck with just the light from a phone. He also organised the safari to Yala, where some how he managed to bypass most of the queue of trucks, and we saw a Leopard, many elephants, a sloth bear and much much more. The accommodation is comfy and clean with the shower outside, it is basic but dont forget you are in the middle of no where, take torches and power packs. I would return in an instant and would recommend to anyone, we had two 80 year olds with us, who are fit and able and they loved it. Absolutely nothing

Loved the staff! And the sounds at night and in the morning are very incredible! We had assistance getting a driver for a safari and that was an amazing experience!

Not that we didn’t like this part we just didn’t realize the remoteness of where we were staying :) Very remote so if you are needing something that you forgot or would like to have you will have to wait most likely! Bring battery backup for phone as there is no electricity plug in for charging.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé l'accueil de notre hôte, le temps qu'il nous a accordé, les balades dans la ferme et le dîner. L'endroit est magnifique et apparaît comme une parfaite immersion avant le safari. C'est une expérience into the wild donc ne craignez pas les petites bestioles ;-) ça fait partie de son charme !

J'aurais juste préféré une douche à l'intérieur mieux équipée car difficile dans le noir d'y aller et le rideau de douche volait avec le vent. Et avoir accès à une autre powerbank pour nos appareils électroniques.
