Yala Wild House

Top 5 experience of all time spent at this Homestay. They were able to sort a full day safari for us on very short notice before we arrived. We have a new friend in Hansa who was our knowledgeable tour guide and Homestay host. He and the driver had the skills and knowledge to make sure we saw as many animals as possible including a beautiful leopard! (I only have a video of the leopard) Being so close to the entrance and border of Yala allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the wild world we were in. They served unbelievably tasty traditional food throughout our short stay. Rooms were simple and charming. Fan worked well and made sleeping possible in hot conditions.

A very wild and yala-ish place to stay and start your safari. The comfort is more like camping which makes it very authentic. The host is very motivated to make your stay special - you’ll see ;)

The night with no fan was a little to warm to us to get some sleep.

This is simple accommodation but absolutely perfect and in a lovely setting in the wild.

What you see is what you get. Very down to earth and quite cozy. The staff were friendly (in their own awkward way) playing bongos and singing for us, while eating. They also helped organise our safari trip, which was very helpful, as they had us picked up at the homestay. So everything was pretty smooth.

There was no menu and we weren't asked what we'd like to eat. The meal was quite nice, but it would have been nice to have some options at least. The place also has no hot water.
