Maison spacieuse et dans un coin très tranquille

We stayed in the accommadation for 2 weeks. The owner made our experience very comfortable and pleasant. Owner and his family are amazing people. They live in the neighbourhood so we always felt safe living there and leaving our belongings on our day trips. He arranged everything for us whenever we needed help. It is a quick walk to the Hiriketiya beach, which we enjoyed the most among all beaches in the close region. Also there are numerous cafes around the accommadation and on the way to the beach, everything is just in walking distance. The accommadation itself was very clean and comfortable, the view was amazing. Everything is the same as in the given pictures. If it is your first time in the region, check how to react to the monkeys, beforehand. It will be useful as they like to visit the balcony. If you will have any incidents, don't worry, neighbour ladies will appear as heros and protect you :)

Maybe kitchen utensils can be replaced. But it didn't affect our stay any bad.

Everything is new and spacious. The room itself was modern, had a separate kitchen and a balcony. There was hot water in the shower with decent water pressure. The bed is super king size and comfortable. The location is a little bit uphill, but within 10-15 min walk to the beach, restaurants and shops.

The service was extremely disappointing. Over a 4-day stay, towels, bins, toilet paper, and other basic amenities were not changed or replenished even once. At the same time, staff repeatedly entered our room while we were away to switch off the air conditioning. The AC unit was positioned directly facing the bed, so we avoided using it while in the room and relied on cooling the room when we were out, which was made impossible. The WiFi was very weak and essentially unusable in the evenings, likely due to a limited daily allowance. Access to the villa required opening gated doors. One evening at 8pm we were locked out and unable to get in. We called, buzzed, and sent messages with no response. Eventually, other guests noticed us and unlocked the gate from inside so we could enter. On Sunday morning we were woken up by loud lawn mowing directly outside our windows. When we asked if it could be stopped so we could sleep, the host replied that it was fine to mow on Sunday morning. In other villas we stayed at in Sri Lanka (including Hiriketiya) for the same price, we received complimentary water, sometimes breakfast, and genuinely warm, welcoming service. None of this was offered here. Checkout was also poorly handled, with no assistance provided to carry luggage downstairs. Overall, the level of service did not match the price or basic hospitality standards.
