Soul Temple Boutique Hotel ADULTS ONLY

The aesthetic and vibe of the property are unparalleled in this part of the world. Beautifully put together and an amazing base to retreat to on the south coast. The service, coffee and food are impeccable and cannot be faulted. Equivalent to 5* hotel service without a doubt! The staff are really friendly and make a real effort to get to know your preferences. Filtered water freely available. Great location for wandering to Ahangama’s coffee shops and restaurants. Sellam Gym is just over the train tracks and the station itself is beautiful. Excellent surf school affiliated with the hotel. Didn’t get out much due to busyness but instructors were excellent (we were one beginner, one novice). Skate ramp has seen better days. Ahangama itself is super busy and in various stages of development. Nothing to do with this amazing hotel but worth noting.

Cistern didn’t always refill in the toilet in the room. Window in bathroom had no latch to close shut at night (the hotel is in a noisy part of town immediately next to Uncles that has a couple of Karaoke nights - which they do warn you about repeatedly). Only two sun loungers - so could get tricky if the hotel were busier. Lots of haranguing from TukTuk drivers based straight across the road and every journey turns into a hard sell on where else they can take you other than your destination. Annoying but par for the course in Sri Lanka (and not really anything to do with the hotel).

Beautiful ocean views, well appointed rooms, lovely team, superb design, and great breakfast!

This place is stunning! If you are looking to stay on the main road with unobstructed view of the ocean from every corner of this property, look no further! The architecture and interiors are so beautiful, the whole property is facing the water so you cannot hear the liveliness of the main road, just the ocean waves. We would like to thank Carina for making our stay so welcoming, she kept in touch, gave us the best recommendations and helped out whenever needed. She and her staff made our stay feel like we visited family in Sri Lanka. Also the sweet breakfast cook is so talented, she prepares the best smoothie bowls and my absolute favorite was the Sri Lanka breakfast! We can’t wait to be back x

As mentioned in other reviews, there is small neighboring deck which has music, during the weekend it can go until 1am, but we didn’t mind it at all and had the best sleep in those comfy beds :)

Soul Temple is absolute bliss! It’s the perfect dream destination if you want to immerse yourself in nature while still enjoying the vibrant energy of Ahangama. The location is unbeatable because it is close to all the action and sitting right in front of a breathtaking beach. What really sets this place apart is the impeccable staff. Carina, the manager, gave us the warmest welcome, answered all our questions, and hooked us up with the best local tips. To top it off, the breakfast is incredible and highly recommended, no matter your type of diet. The Mediterranean option was a highlight. I already can’t wait to come back!
