The Little Angel Cottage

Easy pick up of keys from the hostess's pub 3 mins walk away. The accommodation is spacious, comprising the first, second and third floors above the offices of a holiday let company. I brought my god-daughter for a short break and we had a very nice, good-sized double bedroom and bathroom each. The living accommodation (kitchen/living/dining area) is also a very good size and would suit a family or group of friends. A pint of milk in the fridge was a bonus - not every host does this, but it's appreciated by a bloke who doesn't rock up with a load of groceries. Finally, I must confess that I overslept a tad in my comfy bed and left 3 or 4 items on hangers in my wardrobe when making a swift disorganised departure- but not to worry, my helpful landlady posted them on to me the next day. Excellent service. Her nearby pub is also the liveliest place for a pint or three.

The only downside for us was that old chestnut, the lack of parking. At the busiest times of the year bagging a parking spot either on the street or in a nearby small car park will be a matter of patience and luck. However, that applies to the vast majority of short-stay accommodation in Whitby. For other visitors, the accommodation doesn't look much from the outside, being a maisonette above ground floor commercial premises, accessed by a separate door round the corner. There is also quite a flight of stairs to get up to the first floor, if you have someone in your party who isn't so mobile. However, for the able-bodied, this is really nice, spacious accommodation with a homely feel, plenty of character and two bathrooms (one being an en-suite off the top floor double bedroom) which would make a good home from home for a few days.

The cottage was beautiful. Equipped with all the essentials. Spotless clean . Comfortable beds. Great location. Faultless accommodation.

Staff weren't very friendly . We felt that although we asked and paid for a late checkout that it was inconvenient for them.

Well kept and home from home

The noise off the main road was disturbing on a night time .
