Rooms in Dar Drouj, a special 14th century house Riad

We verbleven drie nachten in deze riad en het was echt een bijzondere ervaring. Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen, voelde het alsof we een andere wereld instapten, zó mooi en sfeervol, bijna onwerkelijk. Wat het nog specialer maakte, was de manier waarop we werden ontvangen en verzorgd door Abdullah en Fatima Zohra. Ze waren allebei zó lief en betrokken, we voelden ons meteen welkom en op ons gemak. Ook het contact vooraf verliep heel soepel, wat erg prettig was. De ligging van de riad is perfect: midden in de medina, dus alles is goed te voet te doen. Maar zodra je binnen bent, is het een oase van rust. We zouden zo weer teruggaan.

Ganzes Haus inklusive Dachgarten für uns alleine gehabt, alles neu und sauber, konnten Küche und Kühlschrank mitnutzen, sogar Waschmaschine wurde uns angeboten, sehr herzliche Gastgeber, viele Informationen erhalten, danke lieber Abdulah, wir haben uns wohlgefühlt:)

Aus der Dachterrasse lässt sich noch mehr rausholen, Liegen, Tische und Stühle, eventuell auch ein kleiner mobiler Pool. Platz ist da und ein atemberaubender Sonnenuntergang am Abend mit Blick über die südliche Médina :)

Learning about the fascinating history of this traditional Dar, the stories behind the birth of the King’s child in the Dar, intricate mosaics, stunning wood carvings, and breathtaking architecture, brought the place to life in a way we never expected. You transformed our stay into a cultural immersion. Beyond the Dar, your knowledgeable tourist advice was invaluable and helped us navigate Fes with confidence. Thank you for sharing your insights and making history feel so present! Fatima’s, your warm smile and delicious home-cooked meals were the heart of our stay. Each dish was prepared with such care and flavour – it felt like being welcomed into a Moroccan family home. The laundry service was also much appreciated and done perfectly. It masterfully blends profound history and authentic, traditional Moroccan design (truly a feast for the eyes!) with all the essential modern comforts.
