A gem of a find!

What a beautiful property! The bedroom was lovely with a very comfortable bed. The whole property has been recently decorated to a very high standard. Delicious food and good real ale! Received an upgrade on arrival, the staff were more than helpful and breakfast served until late!

We had quite a wait for breakfast bit this did not spoil the stay.

Excellent on all fronts

Excellent location with free parking in pretty, rural market town with full range of shops and independent retailers. Local attractions include Alton Towers, Uttoxeter Race Course and a lovely park a within walking distance of the pet friendly hotel. The Hart is a lovely old building, beautifully refurbished. Staff are welcoming, food is delicious with the breakfast menu offering a good choice including healthy but tasty smoothies. As for dining in general, there is no need to go any else: the roasted pork belly in lightly spiced sauce with crispy cabbage was second to none. Customer service was also excellent.

The room was recently refurbished to a very high standard,the staff were all very nice and polite. The evening meal we had was delicious and the choice for breakfast was very good.would highly recommend

Good food and accommodation at a fair price.

The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished and it looks great. The room I had was lovely and of a really good size. The powerful shower and plenty of hot water made for a great start to the day. The staff were all very pleasant and engaged with the customers. The evening meal I had from the fixed menu was delicious and breakfast provided some of the best scrambled eggs I have had in a long time.

We loved our stay here. Really relaxing, the perfect weekend in a beautiful hotel.

Central to all shops and restaurants. Extremely clean and welcoming. Rooms beautiful, bed comfortable, shower perfect. Food delicious, breakfast was so good xxx We loved it would definitely recommend. All staff super friendly.

Wonderful staff, and a great stay.

We had a slight hiccup with a cot not being provided upon arrival. The staff at the Hart reacted very quickly to ensure the request was met and were very communicative.

There is no lift in the property, which will be due to the age of the historic building. Again, staff were incredibly helpful in assisting in getting a pushchair up and down the stairs.

Like the new updates to the Hotel very modern and spacious now. And good attentive staff, Hotel in great location.

Unfortunately the stairs are a pain,but staff very helpful. My room 9 overall is large and upgraded, but a few niggles: the lighting is poor needs more attention and perhaps some lamps. The bathroom mirror was placed on a side wall !!! Need to be a contortionist to view!!! Perhaps a wall mirror would be better. The tea tray stand needs re placing, not working in front of a hot radiator with milk/water on. Love the huge comfy bed, and linen.

Would be great if fresh milk was able to be in the room, we didn’t realise until too late that you could get milk from the bar. Also maybe some biscuits with the tea and coffee station. But that’s just being very picky! This place is great

A lovely hotel, in a lovely place with really nice people.

Breakfast was lovely. Good sized portions. Our rooms were lovely and very clean. We always try and stay at the Hart when we go to Uttoxeter races.

Great service, everywhere very clean , exceptional staff.

Everywhere was very clean and well maintained. All staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. When asked how our stay was, all the staff were interested in our reply and could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. It was amazing as all staff had the same value and interest in making our stay as good as possible.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property and will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Simple but warm and comfortable room, a good size. Excellent breakfast. We could choose any combination of anything on an extensive menu. Friendly staff and so helpful. Centre of town, busy on a monday evening, great food in the evening

I booked a family room as I was with my son - there was only 1 double bed, so I had to carry the mattress up 2 flights of stairs myself as the manager wouldn't. I asked him to bring bed sheets to my room, he didn't, as he was in the beer garden having a beer.

A great stay with brilliant staff. Booking process was easy and would happily stay again and recommend

The property was a lovely! We had a last minute booking and stayed here prior to travelling to Alton towers the next day. We unfortunately arrived late due to getting stuck in stand still traffic on the M40 for a prolonged time so were going to miss the check in time however Ian (I assume one of the owners/managers) was amazing and gave us all the instructions to get ourselves in but turns out he ended up staying late to ensure we go in all well. Offered us a drink prior to going up to our room and was incredibly hospitable. The room was good and then bed was comfy! Parking was easy!

Staff were excellent, room was spacious and spotlessly clean, facilities excellent, bed comfy, towels and bathroom etc brilliant.

Supply of hot water took a little while but once you know this not a problem.

Gem of a Hotel with brilliant staff

The hotel was perfectly situated a 3 minute stroll from many bars and restaurants. The hotel itself was clean and ALL staff superb with a covered drinking area outside . The restaurant looked nice we only had breakfast ( continental) but a good choice of cereals and offerings of cheese and ham along with toast/ jam / pastries. Very nicely presented

On booking many months in advance we was promised a family room on arrival to room ( number3 ) it was infact a double … after a long tiring day at the JCB Golf tournament we decided to make do , however it was a little disappointing our request wasn’t adhered too . Never spoilt our stay so all was good
