    First and foremost, I would like everyone to know that I specifically reserved the “Superior City View” room on Agoda, which was advertised with a sea view and located on a higher floor of the building. I chose this room because it was going to be our last night in Istanbul and in Turkey, and I wanted the experience to be special. We arrived at the hotel quite late, as we were traveling from another city before our flight the next day. My first disappointment came when I was informed that our room number was ***, located on the first floor. As soon as I heard this, I explained to the staff that I had booked a Superior City View room. The receptionist told me that the hotel was fully booked but offered to change our room to number *** on the fifth floor. I then asked how many floors the hotel had, and he informed me that the building had 12 floors in total. When I entered the new room, I immediately realized that it was still not the room category I had originally booked. I returned to the reception desk, where the receptionist who had checked me in was no longer there. Instead, I spoke with a younger staff member named Oguzhan. Unfortunately, rather than trying to assist or understand my concern, he spoke to me in a very dismissive manner, as if I could not understand what I had booked myself. Even though I showed him the Agoda photos and the clear price differences between the room I had reserved and the room I was given, he did not make any effort to help. Instead, he repeatedly tried to convince me that I was mistaken. At one point, he even invented a new room category name, calling it a “Superior City View Standard Room,” which was never mentioned anywhere in my Agoda reservation. I did not want to argue further at the time because we were already tired from traveling, but this was certainly not the kind of experience we expected after carefully choosing and paying for a specific room type. Overall, the situation was disappointing and left a negative impression on what was supposed to be a memorable final night in Istanbul.

    Breakfast buffet was delicious and unique to local culture. The staff was extra friendly going out of their way to please and showing respect. The gym was really small. Historic also means the room looks a bit older in decor and style. The sink is outside of the bathroom and the shower was ok, could use more pressure. The toilet was definitely old school with the tank higher than eye level.

    Its an traditional old school hotel with no central AC especially if you are from cold city or town traveling and visiting there you need a van. Because the heating system is really strong. Average breakfast with everyday same menu.
