Buckingham House

The house is really lovely - it is quite contemporary but very comfortable and well laid out, well equipped and once we spoke to the caretaker and restarted the boiler, cosy. The location is perfect with lots of good dog walks from the house, plus the pub in the village does good food and has a friendly atmosphere. There is a local shop too which is fairly limited in its selection, but is fine for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread.

The only complaint we had is that there was no welcome pack with information on the house, wifi, electric gates, heating, local walks, shop opening times etc. This is the first time we have stayed somewhere without any information whatsoever; we figured it all out, but it would have been nice to have had local information at our fingertips. Oh, and it would have been nice to have had a hand towel in the downstairs bathroom.

The property layout has great flow and worked so well for the six of us, the hot tub and log burner were ideal too. The hidden utility was great, and the downstairs shower and toilet was a bonus that hadn’t been mentioned on the website when booking the property. The village pub was a big hit, fab atmosphere and good food.

Sticky front door lock and the lack of door mats to wipe our feet, particularly as the weather was very wet.

The property was very comfortable, spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped. It was ideal for two couples and was situated on the edge of the village.

It lacked a house book with information about rubbish, the locality and the operation of equipment.
