About this house rental
Black Bear (Unit 78) is located directly across the highway from Purgatory Resort and is a perfect base for your vacation no matter the season. Our townhome features 3 bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen that opens to the living space and dining area, giving you plenty of space to relax.
The townhome home is part of the resort so you have access to free on-demand shuttle service to Purgatory Ski Resort but since it is across the highway you have the privacy and additional space a townhome affords (it’s part of a duplex). At 8,900 feet of elevation, the home is a gateway to an amazing winter playground and also serves as the perfect summer retreat, with a million acres of national forest land at your doorstep offering all your favorite mountain activities. It’s only a 2 minute walk to Twilight Lake for fishing and paddle boarding and as well as Purgatory Flats Trailhead, one of the most scenic hikes in the San Juan Mountains. Horseback riding, jeep trails, an alpine slide, epic mountain biking and the Purgatory Inferno Mountain Coaster are all less than 5 minutes from the home.
Bed Configuration (All bedrooms are on the 2nd floor and all bedrooms have TVs):

2nd Bedroom - King Bed
3rd bedroom - Queen Bed
The townhome is not pet friendly - please do not bring pets.
For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club (open year round) which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. When booking, just advise if you would like us to add the additional 4% resort fee.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

This condo was perfect for our last minute Christmas getaway! To our surprise, we found this home in Blackbear available during Christmas ski vacation. located directly across from Purgatory resort, it was an easy walk across the street to the resort. The unit was fully stocked with all the comforts of home. It's a beautifully decorated unit with nicely appointed furniture. To my surprise, the garage was huge, allowing us to park our 1/2 ton pickup inside. The condo itself has plenty of space for a large family. We would defiantly stay here again but would recommend bringing humidifiers for those coming from a humid region of the country.
