La GoYa at Anjuna Beachside

This lovely guest house is located less than five minutes away from the beach which can be easily accessed. We enjoyed spending time at the small pool very much. Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. The check-in was quick. Additionally, the staff is helpful and provides useful information concerning different mobility options (bus connections). Bike rental is just next door for an easy way to get around.

Nevertheless we have to complain about the guest house / owning company 'Next' trying to find different reasons to cancel our booking instead of sorting things out when arrived. While we were on the train to Goa, they pushed us towards a new booking for a much higher price, threatening us with the cancellation of our accommodation for the New Year's night. All pre-arranged agreements via e-mail with the hotel were irrelevant. This messed up our otherwise enjoyable train ride (even though delayed by 6 hours) and the anticipation with regard to our upcoming holiday in Anjuna Beach. We hope, in the future, situations like this will be handled differently from now on.

The property is very close to Anjuna beach and other well known pubs/cafes. It is a quiet place which is exactly what I was looking for. The staff is well behaved.

The beds are termite infected. Atleast in the room that I was allocated. Only one complimentary bottle for 2 days of stay. The property’s bar and kitchen was nonfunctional which was the most disappointing part of the experience as I paid almost 6k for 2 nights and a prior warning would have been helpful.
