Jaipur can be an intense city in the best possible way, so having somewhere welcoming to come back to at the end of the day matters. Raghunath Haveli was exactly that for us. Its location meant we could step straight into the life of the old city and spend hours wandering through the bazaars, but what we will remember most is the warmth of the people there. Madho, in particular, has a lovely way about him. Helpful, interested and generous with his time, but never performative. We always felt he wanted us to enjoy Jaipur rather than buy a version of it. He arranged a day-long tuk tuk tour for us which ended up being one of our favourite days in the city. There was no feeling of being shepherded from commission stop to commission stop. We simply spent the day exploring with a driver who was cheeky, funny and full of character, and who seemed genuinely pleased to be showing off his city. The food deserves a mention too. The thali was exceptional and the breakfasts were ace. The sort of meals that make you linger a little longer than planned. We arrived at the rather uncivilised hour of 4am and were met with nothing but kindness. That small act set the tone for the whole stay. Throughout our time there we felt looked after, but in a way that is increasingly rare. There was no script, no exaggerated hospitality, no sense that anyone was trying too hard. Just thoughtful people taking good care of their guests. More than anything, Raghunath Haveli felt generous. And long after the sights of Jaipur begin to blur together, that's the feeling I'll take away with me.

A lovely boutique hotel with authentic flair in the heart of the city. The place and the rooms have the charm of an old haveli, and there's even an elevator. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. One of the bathrooms was great, the other desperately needed renovation. The manager and staff were very helpful. They organized laundry and tuk-tuks for our full-day excursions.

The surrounding area is very poor: dirty, chaotic, and noisy. There isn't a single restaurant for miles around. Breakfast wasn't particularly good and there was no choice. It's inappropriate to impose their family values, which dictate a vegetarian diet, on all guests!
