Very peaceful and great location.
My shower curtain was moldy

I liked both the area and the building, which give the place an older, more traditional feel. The room was spacious. Breakfast and dinner were simple and local in style.
There was no hairdryer in the room, although I was able to borrow one from reception. No bottled water. The tap was faulty, and basic amenities were missing, including hand soap, shower gel, and sufficient toilet paper. The sink was dirty, and it appeared that the room had not been properly cleaned before my arrival.

Incredible place, cultivated, heritage style, comfortable, quiet, wonderful staff, good area of the city. A place I'll definitely stay longer at. Ideal to come down after a day in the incredibly bustling old town. Sincerely recommended. Very happy to have discovered this hotel in Jaipur.

We don’t know if we were not given a smaller and downgraded room

Room was spacious and clean and had comfortable bed. Shower with hot water and nice pressure. Quite a big choice for breakfast (Indian). Nice and calm surroundings. Close to the train station (less than 10min by tuktuk).
Room is quite noisy but it was problematic mostly in the morning, night was quiet. It's purely a hotel so it doesn't have this "family vibe" we experienced in other havelis in India.

Tara Niwas is highly recommended for many reasons - first of all the homely feel of the place and not too expensive. It is housed in a lovely part of Jaipur, off of Collector's Circle Park, right next to Chandni Crafts (which has amazing merchandize of handlooms etc for those keen) and in the same lane is the lovely place for Blue Pottery; Kripal Kumbh. Bani Park area has many homestays, but this one stands out for the safety it provides single women travellers, the excellent home cooked meals (which you have to order in advance), and the overall aesthetics of the rooms, the lobbies, the office etc. It is also close to Choti Chaupar and Badi Chaupar circles; the best area for shopping and in close proximity to Hawa Mahal, City Palace (with Govind ji temple where the royals worshipped), Jantar Mantar etc. Jhalana Leopard Reserve is also nearby and Tara Niwas arranges for a trip to the same, they also arrange other day tours - for example to Chand Baori, a MUST see! Next time I would wish to do trips to Samode, Sambhar, and Katu Shyam. Pushkar is also not too far. Jaipur itself has the Amer Fort and Nahargarh fort within city limits and the gorgeous Sun Temple and Galta ji Temple close to one another. It also has Ram Niwas Bagh, Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, Moti Bagh. Beautiful architecture and handicrafts are a given here, with people very polite and respectful. Tara Niwas made my visit very special with efficient check in check out, timely assistance, delicious food, and travel arrangements. I am definitely coming back for all the things I missed doing in my previous visit. Do not miss the Ghewar and Kachodi from Sodhani Sweets or Rawat Misthan Bhandar - which is also close by.
Wifi was not working for me throughout my stay, which was sad as I had WFH to do.

I stayed for a week and had no issues of any kind during this time. I was out and about for meetings etc all day long but very happy to be back for a delicious Indian dinner every night. I didn't try any of the non Indian dishes but will definitely recommend guests start and end their day with the excellent local cuisine. There was never a shortage of hot water, the area is nice and quiet - as quiet as being near the centre can be - the staff and management friendly and helpful
I was not able to pay with any of my foreign bank cards which were accepted all over India, at the ATM next door and all of Rajasthan.

The place was very cozy and clean. The bed was comfortable and big enough. Breakfast wasn't included but we paid for it and it was very good value. They have also laundry which is also an advantage.
Booking bus tickets was a pain.

The hotel had a very traditional and classy feel to it. The location was great, in a quiet area of Jaipur yet not too far from the main attractions.
The room was very comfortable and had all the necessary facilities.
The in-house restaurant serves delicious food. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here almost every day since it was too hot to do much outside in the afternoon.
All the staff were extremely friendly and the garden is beautiful. I would definitely stay here again!

Tara Niwas is like a home from home for me and it's a hotel I return to whenever I visit Rajasthan. The staff are wonderful and the rooms are very clean and comfortable with lovely hand painted designs on the ceilings and high quality bedding. Security and reception are always on hand and there are a good selection of veg dishes and snacks available in the restaurant. It's a delightful place, with some quirky features and touches of eccentricity (check out the garden ornaments and flower pots!) all of which add to its charm.
It's in a decent location but there's nothing particularly notable within walking distance to see here. However, there are many rickshaws passing by outside, or if you prefer not to haggle on the fare, Uber and Ola taxis and rickshaws are cheap in Jaipur and easy to book.
Other guests treating restaurant staff like servants without respect was annoying, but the staff handle it extremely well.

It was definitely the nicest budget-hotel we’ve been to in India so far. Totally liked staying there and even extended our stay for one night. We loved how silent it was during the night. Clear recommendation!
