Countryside Family Home

Clean and the host, Marie, was lovely. Lots of parking. Right off a good highway so easy access. Near Duleek town, and a great pub called Nanny’s was a great suggestion from the host to go to.

Not much to say really. Room would be a touch small if I was travelling with someone though. But solo was great.

Good value as we did not need any facilities; only a good night’s sleep after several days of long drives. Very friendly. Clean and comfortable large room. We slept well. Safe private parking.

Shared bathroom, although that posed no problem in practice. No meal options. Distance from restaurants etc.

•Clean room with that unmistakable ‘budget B&B from a simpler time’ vibe • Marie the host communicated well but clearly believes in an early to bed routine (lights out at 10pm even on a Saturday night!) • Earplugs thoughtfully provided to drown out the nearby traffic concert. • Great for one night stays if you are not too fussy and just need a place to sleep (or try to).

• One toilet and shower shared between 7 guests - feels like a school trip flashback. • No mirror in the room - personal grooming becomes a bit of a guessing game. • Wardrobe was already occupied… by the owners clothes - very authentic ‘spare room at grandma’s’ feel • No sign outside to indicate that this is a guesthouse so you may feel like you are knocking on a strangers door asking if you may stay the night . Definitely not for night owls - arrive late and you’ll feel like you have missed curfew at boarding school
