Sandhill Retreat is a mid-century chic retreat that is ready to welcome up to 6 guests and your furry friend with 2 bedroom and 2 baths. The home features an open living area that flows into the kitchen and dining area, an office, three seasons porch and a hot tub. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

This modern bungalow retreat is located just a 3 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride into downtown Douglas and downtown Saugatuck. Enjoy strolling Center Street and hitting all the restaurants and shops these quaint towns have to offer. From Douglas' famous antique shops to locally roasted coffee, jam and jelly shops. There is no shortage of fabulous places to ignite the senses. After spending a day checking out the neighborhood, take a nice walk to hop on the Saugatuck Chain Ferry. In service since 1838, this little boat is chain pulled across the Kalamazoo River and plops you right in the heart of Saugatuck. With this towns huge art scene, boasting various art festivals throughout the summer season, you are sure to find a treasure for you or a loved one back home. Saugatuck allows open container in the "social district" off Butler and Water Streets. Enjoy a beverage from one of the local watering holes and feel free to bring it with you as you walk the riverfront.
Get outside and enjoy the nature that the area has to offer! With the four beach cruiser bikes that comes included with your stay and a plethora of wooded foot and bike trails that lead to the beach, take a pep step through the dunes to find your perfect sunset over Lake Michigan. Prefer something that requires a bit less exertion? Head over to one of the local wineries or breweries to test taste some of the yumminess that Michigan has to offer.

Getting Around:
This charming modern retreat is within a 15 minute walk of Downtown Douglas and the Saugatuck Chain Ferry which takes you across the Kalamazoo River and drops you in Downtown Saugatuck. Fares are $2/person each way.
The Interurban is a on call public transportation service that services Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville. Simply call the number and request a pickup. $1 fares each way!
Enjoy four beach cruisers during your stay and take a ride to the surrounding downtown's of Saugatuck and Douglas!
Other Things to Note:
There will be a sampling of coffee and tea for you to enjoy during your stay.

Outdoor furniture may be winterized from December - May.
There are 3 parking spots available for guest use. 1 parking space in the garage and 2 parking spaces in the driveway with no street parking allowed.
All Upscale Lakeshore vacation rentals follow local and state tax rules. Your booking will include applicable taxes, a cleaning fee along with a safety and damage protection policy. We want to ensure the safety and security of our guests and properties. When you book a vacation home with us, you will be required to sign a rental agreement after booking along with completing a verification process. We enjoyed our time here despite rainy weather. The area is beautiful and the house is exactly as it is in the photos. Very clean, roomy and comfortable. If you’re staying with a dog they have complimentary blanket, bowls, and treats which was a nice touch. Property manager was easy to reach and communicative. They were able to arrange a late check out for us, too. The only downside was that a portion of the street the house is on was closed. This caused us to have to drive around to figure out how to get to the property. When I alerted the owner about this they were not aware, despite seeing another review from August say the same thing about the road closure. Other than that minor inconvenience, we enjoyed our time there and would go back.

We had a great get away with our dogs! House is stylish, clean and well stocked (kitchen, grilling, beach towels, etc). Great location, walking distance to Douglas Beach, short drive to Oval Beach, Saugatuck Dunes State Park, downtown Douglas and downtown Saugatuck (lots of restaurants and coffee shops)…but honestly the best spot to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or drinks after dinner are on the gorgeous screened in porch! We look forward to returning!

Loved this house. Kitchen had everything we needed. Linens were wonderful, too. The highlight was the screened porch where we observed deer and wild turkeys.
