The living area a little small

Nice facilities. Neat place, nice towels. Loved the washing machine and the drying fan in the bathroom. Nice to have a dining table and chairs.

No mirrors upstairs. Not enough pillows for sleeping. Very steep stairs. Small window in bedroom need a curtain. Far from shops and transport. No restaurants to choose from close by. Lack of communication by property re check-in

This is a single family detached house in a relatively quiet neighborhood in Kyoto. The house itself has been recently remodeled - everything inside is either new or almost new. Heated floors - very handy during cold winter months. All the basics are included, I especially liked the rice cooker (interestingly, not always found in rented houses in Japan). Location-wise, it all depends on what you like. It is not close to any stations but you can walk to 2 train stations and a subway station within 15 minutes. Closest supermarket is also 15 minutes away. Fushimi-inari (and its hills) is well withing walking distance, too.

there is very little storage in the kitchen - almost none, it would have been amazing to have a few extra shelves. other than that, maybe add a few more utencils - a couple of knives, a few chawans for rice, tiny plates for soy souce, etc.
