Residence Fioravanti 9

The location of the apartment was optimal for us, near the railway station, since we had to travel several days to Modena by train. There is a public transportation stop just in front of the building. The neighbourhood is very diverse, but it felt safe even when we returned home late at night (it is true that we were a family of three, including my imposing husband so I cannot speak as if I was a woman alone on the street). It was not noisy, eventhough it was practically across the railway station. A lot of small caffee shops, with sandwiches, if you don't want breakfast at home. There are some small shops, but not very close, and we found a small Carrefour about 800 m from the apartment. We also found a few small but very good restaurants for dinner, at maximum 1 km distance from us (watch out, in Italy dinner starts at 7 PM the earliest). The accommodation was very spatious, well furnished, clean, it had pretty much everything we needed, AC and all appliances worked all right. We had a generous supply of coffee capsules for the machine in the kitchen. A special plus for the dishwashing machine and even more for the clothes washing machine, since it was extremely hot several days in a row (36-38 Celsius) and we had to change clothes frequently. Matress in the bedroom was hard, very confortable for us. Pillows not so much, but this is a relative matter.

The cleanliness at arrival was a 9 out of 10, no big issues, but we stayed for 7 nights and they did not clean at least once. We had spare towels in a storage room, so we changed them when it was time. True, we did not make a formal request for cleaning to the host. The problem was there were a lot of garbage bins in the kitchen (sorted, 4/5 categories) and we were not instructed as to where to take them out, we did not see any containers outside and we did not have spare garbage bags. Luckily, we did not have a lot of organic garbage, because we did not cook at home, we just had breakfast and sometimes late dinner, being away a lot of the time. Another issue was the sofa bed in the living area, wich was shabby and looked like it was going to fall apart. My husband slept on it and his back survived, or maybe he was too tired to feel anything :)

Location is good, if a bit sketchy after dark (not dangerous though). It’s super close to the train station and what’s nice is that there is a tunnel in the station from the apartment side of the station (“Bolognina”) to the historical center. Fairly quiet, big space, big shower, bathroom, and kitchen. The apartment itself is very secure with four locks to get inside, from the outside gate to the interior door. Nice apartment contact guy who waited for my later than scheduled train. Great pastry place and all sorts of mini markets and locally owned businesses around. That area is a good alternative to the pricey historical center.

It wasn’t cleaned well at all. Dog hair on everything with balls of fur in corners and under kitchen table. Filthy floor that needed to be mopped. A maid came after I complained, but the floor was still dirty even after she had mopped (I ended up wearing flip flops so no biggie). Hopefully they did a better cleaning after I left, because I think she was rushed. I will say that she was attentive to all the other things that were wrong with the place by covering the dog-hairy couch, fixing the broken curtain rod, adding more bed linens, and cleaning the dirty fridge shelves. I wish I had been contacted by the management afterward to make sure everything had been cleaned & fixed, but no worries. It’s a good place I’d probably stay at again. 7/10.

Proprietea este la 5 minute de mers pe jos de gara centrala si la 25 minute de piata magiore. Din acest punct de vedere este foarte bine daca vrei sa vizitezi si alte orase, iar Marconi Expres este foarte aproape Mi-a placut ca cei de la firma raspund imediat si faptul ca ai un contact personal cu un reprezentant. Sunt foarte draguti. In cazul nostru au uitat sa faca ceva ce ii rugasem la momentul rezervarii si imediat ce le-am trimis un mesaj destul de tarIu pe la 10 seara , au rezolvat imediat.

Cred ca ar trebui sa tine cont de comentariile altor turisti care au spus ca nu exista o tigaie/oala de inox. Exista ceva cu un tefal zgariat ceea ce nu poate fi utilizat, este nesanatos. De asemenea, as sugera sa fie un prosop de hartie la bucatarie. Un sampon si un gel de dus la baie. Nu costa mult, dar cred ca conteaza.
