The couple that own the property were there to great us and show us around beautiful place with everything you could need . The terrace was so peaceful to relax on in the evening .and the the location was perfect

Beautifully restored building in the centre of the lovely ancient town of Le Dorat. The property was well equipped and the owners, Jason and Sharon, were very welcoming and friendly and brought an additional fan to help keep us cool during the excessive heat wave

The stairs and steps in the property were more suitable for younger people - something older guests should consider

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 1712 Villacarre. The owners have done an amazing job in bringing this lovely townhouse right up to date while leaving a lot of the french charm. Everything you need for your stay is provided and of a very high standard. Great location in the centre of Le Dorat with all amenities close to hand. Plenty of places to visit within a short drive and gorgeous countryside for those who fancy a good walk. Will definitely book again and next time stay a bit longer.

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home, thanks to thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper of essentials. Spending our days exploring and walking in the cool, dry weather made returning to this cozy retreat even more special. Breakfast on the private patio was a joy, and we could only imagine how wonderful it must be in the warmer months—a true suntrap, perfect for soaking up the day and enjoying evening drinks under the stars. The property seamlessly blends modern comfort with its medieval heritage. One of the most intriguing features is the exposed, glass-covered water well in the lounge—beautifully lit and an incredible nod to the building’s past. The log burner was another highlight, adding a warm and inviting atmosphere for relaxed evenings after a day of adventure. The photos on Booking.com don’t fully capture the beauty of this property. Le Dorat itself is steeped in history, offering breathtaking countryside views and charming local walks. We discovered several lovely places to eat and drink, but with the property’s well-equipped kitchen, preparing meals at home was just as enjoyable. We were also fortunate to meet our hosts briefly, and they could not have been more welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. Their passion for the area was evident and added to the experience. A visit to this region is a must, and staying at 1712 Villa Carre made it truly unforgettable. A beautifully restored property in a picturesque town—an absolute gem.
