Our experience was great staying at this hotel

So was very surprised at the decor, but definitely for a single dude traveling was a treat. Learned it was the former Playboy Club, fine for me but not recommended for families

Excellent location with a short walk to piers. Rooms and bathrooms are clean. Staff is very friendly and efficient. The only downsid is the traffic noise.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after this experience, I feel obligated to warn other people before they spend their hard-earned money here. My partner and I booked this hotel for our anniversary because we wanted to treat ourselves. We don’t normally spend over *** on a hotel room, but we decided to splurge for a special occasion. We specifically booked the Queen Room with a backyard/terrace because that was the entire reason we chose this property. Check-in was straightforward. We paid for the room, paid the security deposit, got our keys, and even received ice from the front desk without any issues. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. The moment we stepped off the elevator, we were hit with an overwhelming wall of heat. It was during a heat wave, yet there was no air conditioning in the hallways. Instead, the hotel had windows open throughout the corridors, which did absolutely nothing except make the entire floor unbearably hot. Walking through the hallways to find our room was uncomfortable before we had even opened the door. When we finally entered our room, it immediately became obvious that it wasn’t the room we had booked. It was much smaller and had no backyard or terrace. We went right back downstairs to explain that we had reserved a completely different room. We were told their system showed something different and, instead of giving us the room we actually paid for, we were offered a “suite” as a replacement. When someone says “suite,” you naturally expect an upgrade. This was not an upgrade. It was essentially a regular, very small hotel room with a tiny separate sitting area. It certainly wasn’t comparable to the room we originally paid for. Then we started noticing the condition of the room. The couch was covered in multiple stains that honestly looked like urine and feces stains. It was so unsanitary that we didn’t even want to sit on it. The bedroom air conditioner didn’t work. The bedroom television didn’t work. The only working television was in the living area, but because of how filthy the couch was, there wasn’t even a comfortable place to sit and enjoy it. As if that wasn’t enough, there was a roach in the bathroom with its antennae still moving. At that point, it became obvious that cleanliness was not a priority at this hotel. My partner went back downstairs because I was already frustrated after having to make multiple trips. We explained everything that was wrong with the room and were simply handed keys to yet another room. My partner checked that room, and once again, there were issues with it as well. At that point, I had enough. I wasn’t paying *** for a room where basic amenities didn’t work, the furniture was filthy, there were insects in the bathroom, and we were being sent from room to room hoping one would eventually be acceptable. When you’re charging this kind of money, every room should be clean, functional, and ready for guests. Air conditioning should work. Televisions should work. Furniture should be clean. There should absolutely never be roaches. The most disappointing part was the customer service. Rather than genuinely trying to resolve the situation, it felt like we were simply being shuffled from one room to another with no real concern for the inconvenience. By the time I requested a refund, the front desk employee seemed completely dismissive. Instead of acknowledging how unacceptable the experience had been or showing any empathy, the response was essentially, “I’ll just cancel it.” There was no apology that felt sincere, no attempt to make things right, and no indication that anyone actually cared about the experience we had. The biggest disappointment is that the hotel looks beautiful online and the lobby and common areas create a great first impression. Unfortunately, the guest rooms tell a completely different story. They are much smaller than expected, poorly maintained, dirty, and not worth anywhere near the price being charg
