Dear Agoda & brown town resort Team, I am writing to share our experience during our one-day stay at your resort on, booked to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, the stay fell far short of expectations and did not feel worth the money spent.[Date] *Key issues faced:* *1. Accessibility & Location* The resort is located 2 km inside from the main road via a katcha road. Due to ongoing road work, that route was blocked. We were forced to take a narrow village route and spent 40 minutes just trying to reach the property. Better signage or advance notice would have helped. *2. Room Quality* We booked Haveli rooms expecting a resort-like experience. Instead, we were given rooms on the first floor in what felt like a studio flat setup — four small rooms sharing one main entrance. The rooms were cramped with just a bed, two small side tables, a mini fridge, and a tiny cupboard. It felt congested and did not give any resort feel, especially for kids. *3. Food Service & Pricing* We reached at 3:15 PM, close to lunch closing time. The order for 3 dishes and 2 curries took 1 hour 10 minutes. Dinner ordered at 8:00 PM took 1 hour 25 minutes. Portion sizes were very small compared to the high prices: ₹120 for one roti, ₹100 for water, ₹100 for tea. Our lunch of veg biryani, tandoori chicken, tikka masala with 7 rotis cost ₹4000. Dinner cost ₹3000. The rates felt unreasonable for the quantity and service time. *4. Power Outage* After dinner it began raining and the power went off for the entire night. There was no fan, light, or AC we are unable to open windows because of mosquitoes and insects were making noise and they were no window mosquito mesh. When we called, we were first told there was no diesel, then that water had entered the panel and the generator couldn't be started. We spent the whole night with phone torches. The kids couldn’t sleep. *5. Checkout & Transport* By the time power returned in the morning, it was almost breakfast and then 11:00 AM checkout. We couldn’t get cabs for an hour as drivers kept cancelling. The resort’s reference driver quoted ₹2000, while the cab we booked was ₹490. While the gardens and lawns were well maintained, we barely had time to relax and enjoy them due to the delays and power issue. We don’t wish to leave negative feedback lightly, but after spending a significant amount, the experience was extremely disappointing. We went to celebrate and returned exhausted. Our takeaway is that celebrating at home would have been better. I hope you treat this as constructive feedback and take steps to improve accessibility, room quality, service times, pricing transparency, and backup power reliability for future guests.
