Known worldwide as the city built on water, given its construction on 100 islands in the lagoon, Venice is one of the most popular Italian tourist destinations.

It can be defined as an open-air museum, thanks to its numerous historical and artistic testimonies preserved and represented by the numerous churches, palaces, and museums.

Walking through Venice is like taking a dip into the past; the so-called calli (streets) are scattered and framed by aristocratic buildings such as the Doge's Palace, the historic residence of the Doges, by spectacular bridges including the famous Rialto Bridge and by canals that can be navigated by gondolas, vaporetti and boats of all kinds.

The heart of the city is the enchanting Piazza San Marco, which houses the homonymous Basilica and welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world every day.

The most prominent event in the area is certainly the Carnival, which attracts the attention of a large part of travellers in the world, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of masks and costumes that animate the streets every year.

Finally, an activity not to be missed if you decide to visit this magnificent and evocative location is certainly the famous "Bàcaro Tour", a typical initiative that involves tourists in a tour of Venetian taverns to the sound of typical wine glasses and cicheti, that is, small tasty samples.
