Fox Cottage is a fully renovated rental, situated only miles from downtown Spicer, MN. Located 90 miles from the Twin Cities, Fox Cottage is a beautiful getaway on the shores of George Lake. Fox Cottage provides the charm of an English-inspired cottage with all the modern comforts designed by Nested Homes.
The cottage sleeps up to six (but could fit one or two more if you don’t mind being cozy). The lakeside bedroom offers a double bed and lots of vintage charm. The second bedroom features two twin beds that can be converted into a king size bed upon request. There is also a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.
Fox Cottage is steps from George Lake, offering ample decks and outdoor living space with lake views and 50 feet of lakefront for your enjoyment. The cottage features a large firepit area (with firewood provided) to enjoy evenings by the lake. The backyard space can also be transformed for an outdoor movie experience upon request.

The property was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed using the paddle boards and all of the outside areas. The new, modern finishes were very nice and we felt comfortable at all times including during both sunny days and thunderstorms. The kitchen was furnished with the cookware and utensils we needed. Note to future renters, bring your own toiletries (including soap) and any condiments for cooking (except salt & pepper which is provided). The loon and bald eagle topped our lovely stay. Thanks for all.

Extremely clean and so tastefully decorated. Walk out the back patio door and right into the water. Firepit area out the back door is so well done. Would highly recommend a stay at this lovely little gem. Did not want to leave and can’t wait to go back !

We enjoyed our stay here. It's a beautiful little house with almost everything you need for a lovely lakeside vacation. The fridge-freezer is smaller than your standard size, but it easily held three days' worth of food with plenty of room to spare. Unless you're trying to pack a few cases of beer in there, I feel sure that you could fit enough food for an entire week. The lake was very pretty but choked with weeds which makes swimming near shore very unpleasant. We took a paddleboard out to a deep area and swam there. The water is clear and clean. The host and the next-door neighbor are very responsive. We were having some trouble with the deck door and the neighbor came over almost as soon as I hit "send" on my message! The only suggestion I would make is to make the house a little more practical. There was no sponge for dishes (just a brush that was awkward to use on smaller things), no kitchen washcloth for the countertops and stove (I didn't want to use the white bathroom washcloths), no toilet brush, and none of the basics that you usually find in the kitchens of rental properties: salt and pepper, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, maybe a chip clip or two... Overall, I recommend it and I would love to go back!

I would say that our stay overall was pleasant. If you plan to stay longer than the weekend, then plan food accordingly. There is only a half size fridge, and the freezer is very small. The main bedroom bed is also a Full Size. Besides those two small things the cottage is a great weekend getaway.
