This lodge was absolutely incredible and honestly much fancier and more beautiful than we expected. We had such a wonderful stay.
Mary was exceptional. She is so warm, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable, and she really made our experience special. The game drives were amazing and were definitely one of the highlights of our trip. In the mornings, they even had hot water bottles and blankets waiting for us in the vehicle, which was such a thoughtful touch for the cold early drives.
Our kids had a fantastic time as well. There are five separate houses, with the main house containing the kitchen and living space, while each bedroom is in its own separate house. Two of the bedroom houses also have loft areas with additional beds, in addition to the main beds, which was great for the kids.
Everything about our stay felt special, comfortable, and thoughtfully done. Between the beautiful lodge, the incredible game drives, and especially Mary, this was truly an unforgettable experience. We would absolutely recommend it!
The game drives were excellent and we saw a wide variety of wildlife. The only thing to keep in mind is that the lodge is quite far from the central areas of Pilanesberg, so getting deeper into the park adds quite a bit of driving time. With younger kids, we stayed closer to the edge of the park. Between our drives in Pilanesberg and the exclusive Black Rhino Reserve, we saw a herd of 32 elephants, herds of wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, hippos, kudus, impalas, white rhinos, a baby rhino nursing, and even a rare black rhino.

In the middle of a reserve and very luxurious
The game drive on black rhino was to relaxing for us! We changed one day to a full day(with ranger) in Pilanesberg the park itself.. that was great! But we had to pay for it also where I thought they would change it for the two game drives we supposed to have.
