MINIMA 8

It’s my first time staying in a self-checkin hostel type of accommodation, and I am glad that I found and booked Minima 8. I love that it’s strategic location in Pulau Tikus - you never run out of local food options! Checking-in was a breeze as I got clear instructions/guide via Whatsapp, from the property owner, Mr Mike. The room (Room 5) is just what I needed: a comfy bed with clean beddings and fluffy pillows, clean towels, good AC, fast WiFi, a clean and no mouldy-smell bathroom, hot water and powerful shower! The room is very compact and no window. The hallways have a motion-sensor lighting and CCTV. There is a common pantry area as you enter, and it has a small fridge and a hot/cold water dispenser. I am not sure if there are any coffee/tea making supplies as I didn’t get to check what’s inside the cupboards. . Checking-out is also a breeze as you just have to return the key back to its assigned key box. Highlights: Location 10/10! Downstairs, there is a Mr DIY, Hei Coffee & Acai (check out their bagels!), a soya drink stall, fruit stall, mini grocery. Of course, it’s walking distance to more coffee shops and eating places in Pulau Tikus Market, Moulmein Rise, etc. Security 10/10 Not sure if I was just the only guest checked in that time, I never felt spooked or unsafe. The electronic door access code is sent to you via Whatsapp and that’s what you use to get in/out of the hostel. Also, the property owner is very responsive to request/questions. 9/10 Value for Money In the room I stayed at, there is a bottle of shower gel in the bathroom. But just bring your own toiletries. Comfort 9/10 The only concern I have while staying in Minima 8 is the noise (barbells hitting the floor, I think) coming from the Hyrox gym at level 3. Also, take note that the room I stayed at has no window. Overall, I am happy with Minima 8 and will stay there again if I am back in the Pulau Tikus area.

Small building and comfortable. Cleaniness is good. I like the Bathroom room attached with glass door and big mirror. Happy with this facility. The owner is very helpful.

Quite recommended hotel. In my experience, this is a self check in hotel. I just stay for one night, so I cannot give any detail experience. But I can recommend this hotel.

Well it seems minor but I went into shower expecting there was soap and there isn’t a drop left so I dunno if I should go out and spend money on one bottle of soap for something I paid for…otherwise the staff was helpful with check in and overall cleanliness was great.
