Everything at Mani's house was EXCELLENT ❣️ ! It is run by a charming local family so you get a real Bali experience. During holidays you can watch them make beautiful Balinese decorations and really enjoy the local vibe. There are incredibly beautiful carvings and shrines within the courtyard that really add a fabulous local touch.. With that being said, the room was spacious, beds were and pillows were very comfy, it was very convenient to have the refrigerator, very clean, Wi-Fi worked without fail very well at good speeds. I'm a digital nomad so was able to get some nice peaceful quiet time to get a lot of work done in a very efficient manner thanks to the comforts and quiet at this property. Grab was very easy to order for restaurant and grocery deliveries. It was also very convenient for grab car pickups to take me anywhere I wanted to go. It was a very easy and convenient walk to restaurants and the beach in seminyak. There's a local Mart just a few minutes away for any essentials. I stayed for 2 weeks and had a very comfortable home away from home during that time. I highly recommend you consider this property for your next stay in Bali!

Amazing stay near everything

I stay 1 night but the place is amazing, private and quiet. You can connect with the traditional Balinese culture, the host is always trying to make your stay much better, happy to help when you need and very kind. Definitely when I back, ill stay there again.

Clean, spacious modern room in traditional house

Lots of space to unpack! Very clean. Newer construction upstairs where guest rooms are. Downstairs very traditional and ornate. Provided clean water. Felt safe and comfortable. Friendly family. Very clean. A block from the main areas and beach, yet felt very quiet and relaxing.

I had a nice stay at Manis Guest House. I liked the spacious room with the big bed and the clean bathroom. I totally recommend this place. I would stay here again. It was really nice to meet the family. The place is managed by a family that also lives in that yard. It is a traditional Balinese house.

Spacious airy room, comfrotable bed, fresh linen, plenty of towels, clean nice scented room. aircon, fridge, there is a safe in wardrobe and TV in room. Host & her family are friendly and welcoming. Only a few minutes walk to the centre and close to the beach.

Good bedroom but poor bathroom infrastructure makes for a less than comfortable stay

The bedroom was clean and the host was polite and responsive. They provided a standing fan when we raised concerns.

The bathroom has no ventilation—no window or fan—which caused a strong, lingering odour. Mothballs were added to help, but only made it worse with chemical fumes. We had to sleep wearing masks and couldn’t leave windows open at night for security. Fyi, the window looks out into the common corridor. Also, you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet (which wasn't mentioned beforehand), and the bidet spray wasn’t very effective. Overall, it was an uncomfortable stay. We wouldn’t return unless proper ventilation and bathroom upgrades are made.

Dall’accoglienza della famiglia e del loro 🐶, tutto estremamente pulito, lenzuola e asciugamani bianchi e profumati, ottima pressione dell’acqua, frigo e a/c ben funzionanti e silenziosi, cassaforte, materasso comodissimo, ottima zona, silenzioso e in famiglia, ho amato questo posto il meglio che in tanti anni io abbia trovato in seminyak e il prezzo é super al di sopra di ogni mia aspettativa 🙏

L’unica cosa che sarebbe seriamente da mettere a posto é l’oscuramento per la notte. A Bali é un po’ sempre così, dopo un po’ ci si abitua. Altra piccola pecca il bagno senza areazione di nessun tipo. Ma rimane molto consigliato

Ich kann Manis House sehr empfehlen. Man wohnt in Strandnähe in einem traditionellen Haus. Trotz der zentralen Lage ist es sehr ruhig und die Appartments sind groß, komfortabel und bestens ausgestattet. Die sehr lieben Gastgeber tragen dazu bei, dass man sich sehr wohl fühlt.

Niks Helaas bieden ze geen ontbijt opties, maar er zijn genoeg winkeltjes in de buurt Bij aankomst rook de kamer erg muf, maar als je de kamer even laat ventileren door het raam te openen is het zo weg

host/host’s family repeatedly tried to enter my room without permission.

I‘m a Chinese solo female traveller with two large suitcases, staying 4 days 7–11 Aug 2025 (Booking order as proof) During my stay, on three separate days the host intercepted me and attempted to enter my 2nd-floor room without consent, always claiming "cleaning." My room was on the 2nd floor; to leave I had to pass the 1st-floor reception where the host lives and often waited, making me feel monitored. Day 1: As I passed the 1st floor to go out, the host stopped me and insisted on entering my room to "clean." In my experience, family-run guesthouses only clean on request, so this unsolicited demand on day one was unusual. I refused. Day 2: Less than a minute after I unlocked and opened my door, the host's son rushed up from the 1st floor and repeated the demand. I again refused and told him no cleaning was needed for my stay. His timing suggested they were watching my movements. Day 3: I left quickly while the host was away. At 5 pm I received a Booking.com message from the host claiming "internet will be down from 1–7 am tonight." This was false — the internet remained working. I view this as harassment after my refusals. Day 4: Again, as I tried to leave, the host intercepted me in person, insisting on entry. I firmly refused, reminding her that her son had already been told there was no need for cleaning and that the repeated harassment was unacceptable. Hours later I received another message falsely claiming I had stayed a week and "must" allow cleaning — my stay was only 4 nights. After I challenged both lies (fake outage and falsified stay length), the host ordered me to return within one hour to pack and leave immediately — a threat to force me out before my paid stay ended. I warned I would call the police; the messages then stopped. After I packed, the host made no attempt to enter or inspect the room — the opposite of earlier insistence.

(to continue: Because this was a non-refundable booking, I could not leave earlier days. So when the host finally told me to leave, I returned promptly to pack my belongings. Before leaving, I asked the host and host’s son why they had repeatedly tried to enter my room; he did not answer, turned away, and shut the door firmly to avoid further questions. The elderly female host, who had previously insisted on entering daily, made no attempt to inspect the room before my departure — the complete opposite of her earlier behaviour. This made me believe their “cleaning” demands were directly related to whether my luggage was present in the room, raising serious doubts about their true intentions.) ⚠️ This place may treat other guests differently, but for solo female travellers, I strongly advise caution. This is not just a service issue — it is a matter of privacy and personal safety. 🚫 女性慎选：我在这间旅馆经历了三天被强行试图入室的骚扰，感到极度不安。我是一位中国单身女性游客，带着两个大行李箱独自旅行。在这家住宿从8月7日至8月11日短短四天内，我三天被房东或其家人以“打扫”为名强行拦截，持续试图进入我的房间。经历极为不安。第一天下午房东在我经过一楼准备出门时拦下我，未经预约、也未征求我同意，就提出要进屋打扫。我在其他旅馆从未遇到这种“主动强制入室”的行为，尤其是在以节省人力为主的家庭旅馆中尤为罕见。我立刻警觉，因此没有答应。第二天早晨更令人不安的是，我刚打开二楼的房门不到一分钟，房东的儿子就突然出现在门口，提出相同要求。我当面明确拒绝，并告知未来几天都不需要打扫，如果有垃圾我会主动联系。这一“监视感”极强的行为让我开始高度警惕。第三天为了避开他们，我趁房东不在楼下时快速离开，成功未被拦截。但当晚5点我收到一条通过Booking平台发来的消息，内容称“晚上1点到7点将断网”。这显然是一个虚假信息——当天根本没有断网。我怀疑这是对我拒绝入室后的一种线上“施压”或精神骚扰。第四天我再次试图匆忙离开，却又被房东拦下，坚持要进屋。我强硬地再次拒绝，并指出她儿子已经被我告知不需要清洁服务，过去几天的反复骚扰让我极为反感。在我四天连续两次当面对对方拒绝要求入室打扫的几小时后，对方再次主动发送Booking信息对我施压，对方编造我住宿时间称“我已经住了一周，必须打扫”。实际上，我只住了四天，有Booking订单和聊天记录为证。这种编造入住时间、虚构打扫理由的行为，让我深信他们的真正目的不是清洁，而是强行入室。我拆穿他们的两大谎言之后（虚假断网、篡改编造入住时间），对方继续发信息威胁我，让我一个小时内从外面赶回来收拾东西，立刻消失。这种未退房款的情况下以语言威胁逼我离开，我表示如果继续这样我将报警，这才终止了线上持续的施压。由于是不可退款订单，我没有办法提前退房。但在房东明确提出让我走人后，我才可以迅速赶回旅馆整理行李准备离开。在离开前，我曾质问房东儿子为何反复要进屋，他完全不回应，转身离开，而且重重关上了房间门生怕有后续追问。而老太太在我最终打包好行李准备走人后，甚至没有上楼查看或验房，这与之前天天逼我开门的行为完全相反。这让我深信：他们所谓的“清洁”，与房间内是否有我行李高度相关，动机可疑。 ⚠️ 本住宿或许对其他住客态度正常，但如果你是像我一样的女性独自旅行者，请务必慎重考虑。这不仅是服务问题，更是隐私与安全的威胁。

Das guest House ist ruhig in der nähe zum Strand gelegen. Märkte, Restaurants etc. sind alle in der nahen Umgebung. Die Räume sind großzügig und sehr sauber. Die Gastgeberin ist super nett und herzlich. Das Wifi ist sehr gut. Ich habe den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kann es wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Séjour exceptionnel ! Les propriétaires font tout le charme du lieu, on y viendrait juste pour les rencontrer. Ils sont d'une gentillesse incroyable et tellement attentionnés. L'établissement est à quelques minutes à pied de la mer, la chambre est très propre, le lit est certainement le plus confortable que j'ai essayé.

주인 내외 분이 운영하는 발리 전통을 느낄 수 있는 홈스테이 숙소예요! 발리 전통 가정집을 경험해 볼 수 있어서 좋았어요. 발리 두 번째 방문이었는데 친절하게 대해주셔서 역시나 좋은 기억 안고 갑니다 :) 스미냑 메인 해변과 가까워서 도보로 다녀올 수 있어요. 숙소 가면 귀여운 강아지 마르코가 반겨줘요!

발리 숙소가 대부분 그렇지만 샤워 시설이 조금 열악해요. 발리섬 자체 수질이 안 좋은 거라 어쩔 수 없어요. 해바라기 수전 아니라서 샤워 필터 챙겨가시면 교체해서 쓰셔도 됩니다. 하지만 이 가격에 이 정도면 정말 훌륭한 편이에요!

- schönes sauberes Zimmer (entspricht den Bildern) - wirklich sehr nette Gastgeber - gute und ruhige Lage - Anscheinend liegt es in einer Art kleinem Tempel - leider standen wir erst vor verschlossener Türe und wussten nicht, wie wir reinkommen sollen
