the room was clean and well presented, TV was massive and had all the apps on it, i loved the walk in shower wet room style it felt spacious! the air con, despite the issues i'll get to, was an absolute life saver. it was 30C during MCM comic con, coming back to air con after sweltering in costume was such a relief. kitchen was stocked with ammenities cutlery etc, even found a pair of scissors for last minute clothing adjustments for Sunday of con! there was clothing refresher spray found in the bathroom that was nice to freshen up my costume for the next day as well. the location right near the DLR was a great commute to the excel, if the stuff in the bad section doesn't disuade you which, i just have to be honest, it's still worth it if this stuff doesn't bother you imo. accom around conventions all gets hiked and this place was good budget for the location around con. host was always quick to respond to messages via the system on here and communicated well

owner take this as constructive crit and not me being a grouchy guest ok, i'm not like that :') first of all the accom is just a house conversion on a terraced street, that's not a bad thing necessarily but the state of the presentation from the first onlook genuinely frightened me when first arriving not to be a melt, genuinely - stuff piled up in the windows, very potent bin smell, no direct signage, was worried i had the right place at first. there were renovations going on so if this was temporary please disregard this, but forewarning via message could aid future guests. there was drilling going on but i was reassured it would stop by 5:30, not sure if that was in this building or not, host suggested neighbours. bed is incredibly soft, if youre not into that sort of thing like myself it may be hard to get comfy, like very sinky memory foam my main issue was with the air con and how the situation was handled - on the last morning i awoke around 4:30-5am to the sound of dripping, and saw the air con was leaking all over the place out of the front panels :( i had to rush out of bed and clean all the water up, i pulled the TV forward to make sure it didnt break, and there was no going back to sleep after that! i contacted the host to let him know about it and that i'd sorted it and rescued the telly, guy proceeds to uhhh blame it on me?? not emptying the overflow jug daily? and humidity. which first of all i was not told i should be doing, like at all, but secondly i own an air con unit at home with an overflow and not once has it ever leaked out of its front panel because the bucket was half full. the humidity is taken out of the air and flowed into the jug, it was complete nonsense. it wasn't blamed aggressively and was generally quite neutral and passive, but the audacity to point the blame in the first place was just not on man, that wasn't it.
